Probably, but thats been going on for nearly 6 months - and this current problem isn't down to a lack of money. I think someone else said they've been given a grace period, which is the 3 months, sort of. If they get it sorted and submitted by the 25th February then there still maybe time, but the 3 months will also include time for the accounts to be verified.

Like Locke said, they probably wont be dissolved, its just standard practice to submit them with that under the circumstances. While a company is producing monies it will very rarely will go under completely. Football clubs are a good example of this; as long as you have good assets to prop you up amid a financial crisis and you are in debt to third parties, then whoever is the administrator will try to keep it going, just to pay off as much debt as possible (if you're thinking Portsmouth FC at this stage, its a pity that the debt outweighs the assets but quite a long way :P the ground itself cant even be chucked in as they've put it into several mortgages).

More rumours of financial troubles, this time for Petrov

[willthef1journo.wordpress.com]

Ironic that after all the hype about his massive sponsorship money, it hasn't even come to fruition.

Give Jérôme d'Ambrosio a shot then!!! Come on Renault, they have taken on the services of Petrov and Tung for their money. d'Ambrosio is in there because of his talent, as is Kubica. He did beat Kobayashi in a straight fight at DAMS. And we all know what he can do.

He finished behind Petrov though, so there's probably more chance of them leaving Petrov in, without money, than giving it to Jerome.

Jean Todt has basically said that USF1 and Campos can miss the first three races without penalty:

Personally, i think it's a wise move - rather than taking the Mosley line of kicking them out at the faintest whiff of them being unable to compete, he's thinking long term and realising it's better for F1 to have 13 teams this year, even if it's a bit delayed. And i guess Stefan GP can still have a go if either of them fail to make it.

/edit: He's also proposing licences for team bosses, and saying that he will only stand for one term. Remarkably un-Todt-like :S

Hopefully if they don't make it, Stefan GP get a shot in the races they miss. It would be a bit of a mess if USF1 or Campos do need their slot back, but it would be nice to see Stefan get a go. They're clearly very intent on getting on the grid.

On the subject of Campos, I think it's a sign of just how bad their troubles are that they're having to resort to Teixeira for finance, a bloke who seems to have a reputation for not actually delivering the cash.

I wonder how bad the other entries must have been if USF1 Campos got accepted! I mean at the very least of requirments I thought a secure funding would be one! USF1 are also on the limit of funding yet have 'apparently' been planning for years. I really would love to know the decision making behind the FIA's choosing of teams.

If Campos or USF1 do not make the first few races and Stefan GP fill in, then I at least think they should be allowed to see out the season. I think its a farce a team is allowed to miss races in the first place. Poeple have payed alot of money to be at those races, expecting a full grid, expecting USF1, and Campos.

Some of the other entries were much better than US-F1 and Campos, but since the FIA put in a requirement that any new team must use Cosworth engines, this ruled out quite a few of them (Prodrive, N.Technology etc.). Lotus and Virgin have done a good job so far, its just a pity that we didn't get Lola/Epsilon Euskadi/Prodrive etc. along with them.

Check this. It's the Lotus F1 car for 2010 (from Autosport again - I remembered from the Williams spy shot)

Nice spot from Gav on the livery, he saw the yellow up the nose :D:D!

As for the car, its simple because its gone from concept to track in 4months! Something im sure even the big teams would be in amazment at! So well done to Mike and the team for that! Mike stateed a while back the car in Spain will have had ALOT more development time. I congratulate the team for being able to get a car on track in such a short time period. A car on track right now I imagine is worth more than one beign in the tunnel. This is the time they need to learn about the car and tyres. Lotus has just put USF1 to shame here...

It looks about as effective as anything else designed by Mike Gascoyne.

Six F1 teams clearly believe that there is aerodynamic advantage to having a shark fin on the engine cover, and Lotus run without one. Does that mean the six teams are wrong...? Unlikely.

Brawn isnt either, whats your point? It's quite a substantial piece of CF, just because it works on one, doesnt mean it'll work on another, these are heavily optimised machines we're talking about. Besides that...

Mike said, this car has had little development time. Consider when this team was granted entry compared to the others, yet Lotus still has a car on track before USF1, Campos, and a few days after Virgin. Its been quite an achievement if you ask me! This car was never going to turn heads.

Like I said in my post Mike stated this car would not be upto the standard of others because of its limited development time, and said there would be a heavily revised version for Spain.

edit - locke, also take another look at the spyshot at the rear, looks like a crude sharfin type extension but not sure :p

With diverse front wing designs, it's not surprising there's divergence on shark fin theory!
For a new take on an old name on their first outing, I like the Lotus. Racing green never fails.
Let's just hope all the new-comers make it.
