Not likely, cars ran full tanks through 1993. I believe the last car to catch fire due to a crash was Berger at Imola '89, in a Ferrari that stored fuel in the sidepods (now illegal).

Yeah I think Marlboro's contract ends at the end of 2010 or 2011?

2013 - Nando must come through..

End of 2011, i think - but they could extend it further if they want to.

Definitely, as said already, Fernando's helmet compliments the Ferrari livery beautifully.

95% sure that campos and usf1 will not make it, and also force india is in danger.

...now, what on earth FIA thought when they choose those (anonimus) names for f1 when names like lola, prodrive (AMR) and others are rejected.
it seems that FIA will again be fault for things that happening (will happen) to f1...

Indeed, Companies House has seemingly lost patience with Force India for not filing its accounts, therefore they have begun the process of closing them down by serving them notice.

They have 3 months starting from the 26th January to file their 2008 accounts correctly, if they don't then Force India will be dissolved and the team will become property of the state/FIA and the criminal proceedings begin (its sound a bit dramatic, but this is a criminal offence in the UK).

I hope that doesn't happen, it would be a pretty sad end to a team that just 10 years ago had such promise under the Jordan banner.

Lola? Remember what happened the last TWO times they were in F1?

Nevertheless, since the team was acquired by Mallya and Mol's Luxembourg-based vehicle, Orange India Holdings, in October 2007, it has had a track record of filing late accounts. Its 2006 and 2007 results were both delivered last year a total of 28 months late.

The Lola project of '97 was a cockup from the bean counters and bean providers. The team itself might have been OK, but MasterCard decided they needed to be on the grid a year earlier than planned. The team didn't even have time to test things in a wind tunnel... due to MasterCard (and the Lola hierarchy for allowing it) it was a car based on guesswork.

The Lolas of the 80s weren't actually Lolas - more of an offshoot of Lola's connections with Carl Haas.

Lola have made plenty of chassis for other teams over the years, but with little to shout about... given some of the teams though, that was always going to be the case, regardless of how good the core chassis weren't.

Force India will be on the grid. IMHO the most likely outcome is that they will be heavily fined and will race under appeal for the season until the accounts are correctly logged, but I don't believe they will be 'wound up' for it.

My reasoning is economic, and there are plenty of precedents here in the UK to follow on such matters. Firstly, Force India have invested a lot of money into this season and courts will be hesitant to force them to waste all of that investment. Secondly, and more importantly, a lot of employees are depending on Force India's participation for their income. Once again, the courts would take their needs into account.

I'm certainly not saying that the company will "get off" with filing late accounts, but the courts IMHO will not allow the operation to close down, at great economic and personal expense. They will keep it going somehow, but the team will be punished in another way.

Not heard a great deal from the team over the winter. I am quietly confident they can produce a special car. I would be supprised to see them just off the top teams .. At least thats my hope! I hope the di Resta testing could mean sutil is on his way out...
