I think with Schumacher now confirmed, what makes the '10 season special is that we have the cars we expect to be quick, ie Mercedes, Mclaren, Ferrari, and RedBull all with drivers capable of winning and arguably those teams contain currently the best drivers in F1.

That means Heidfeld will probably get the last Sauber seat then. If that's the case, then they've got 2 solid drivers.

Next year should definitely be fantastic!

Even apart from the four teams most expect to be at the top, Williams have a great mix of youth and experience, Renault with Kubica will be desperate to restore some of the luster they have lost, and Sauber will also (probably) have the ever-reliable Heidfeld, and the dynamic Kobayashi. Even Toro Rosso could surprise as Buemi and Alguersuari settle in futher, and by the end of the year, the new teams could also start to close the gap to the established teams.

Only 80 days to go, already can't wait!

I wouldn't call Kobayashi solid yet, he's got the pace, there's no doubt about that, but his consistency is still an unknown. If he can be that quick throughout the season, (and I'd certainly like to see that happen) and Heidfeld can unleash his potential at last, then Sauber could have a very healthy points tally at the end of the season.

So still one place at Renault and at Campos, and nothing yet from USF1. That Renault drive will be a coveted one. :)

No, because none has announced them yet. Probably because the joint team launch has been cancelled only last week.

All should be mid to late January though, before testing starts in February.

Apparently Blick has reported that de la Rosa is going to drive for Sauber in 2010...

Would be quite a surprising move, i think. While he does have knowledge from McLaren, Heidfeld, Fisichella or Klien would surely be better options alongside Kobayashi. Maybe Heidfeld is a candidate for Renault, because that is the only other established seat remaining. If not, I would have assumed that Sauber would have taken him instantly, as his approach would be a perfect foil for Kobayashi, and could have produced quite a good line-up.
