I noticed that too, he said Hamilton's still going to go onto bigger and better things.

So what Alonso says go's? If he told all his little fanboys to jump off a bridge would you do it?

LOL i also noticed that!

Look! alonso on p2!! lol~. And heikki matched his teammate hamilton with the same number of laps with the same number of fuel loads

Great input from Jackie.

About Max and Bernie, he's totally right!! Didnt Max say a few weeks ago that the election should be left with the two candidates, and that no other words about them should come out???

The circuit at night, when viewed from above looks like someone has taken the brightest of white markers and drawn over the circuit! looks strange!

On the longer runs, at a glance the sector times did vary. Rubens though on the softer having possibly a few tenths over Button. Abit annoyed at Trulli blocking Button so badly!!! Trulli never has been good at getting out the way!!!

edit - Heikki on form, but 100% can be sure once it comes to qualifying and race he will be nowhere.... again. RedBull looking very strong. Croft mentioned low-fuel but I doubt thats the case, they look quick!

Mclarens monster mouth diffuser has been replaced by a much more subtle device similar to Brawns. As for their old one, the huge mouth one, I did wonder how well it achieved their desired pressure gradient as it seemed like it was just two massive holes!!!

RedBull also have a new diffuser, quite similar to Mclaren/Brawn and that lot!

I think Ted also said this morning, but looks like alot of Brawns update has been focused at the rear around the engine cover, looks like they've copied RedBulls/STR hole in the engine cover for cooling.

I dont have a membership, but the titles are enough...

And of course the title and description is enough to understand the jist of what was discussed with jackie...

Basically, Mosley should STFU nad let the election run its course, we dont want his opinion,we dont need it, and it could sway the results in his favour (todt). The example they used was USA presidents, you dont hear them favouring one over the other. Nor should mosley. It's not his business anymore to be frank. Besides that Todt is fat little sh*t who should never hold any ruling power in F1. I can see it now...

"FIA announce a new rule, Rubens Barachello can no longer win any FIA sanctioned sport, for the good of the championship"

edit - deleted links which dont work so...

"Vatanen unhappy at Mosley stance

By Jonathan Noble and Pablo Elizalde July 17th 2009, 14:15 GMT

Former world rally champion Ari Vatanen has criticised the manner by which Max Mosley has gone public in his support for candidate Jean Todt in the future FIA presidential elections. "

And...

"Mosley backs Todt for FIA presidency

By Jonathan Noble and Dieter Rencken July 15th 2009, 10:06 GMT

FIA president Max Mosley has confirmed that he will definitely not stand again in October's election and has endorsed Jean Todt as his preferred candidate. "

Jean Todt would have an earpiece constantly attached to his ear, giving him a direct line from Max Mosely, pulling the strings from the background.

Basically Sir Jackie said that Max and Bernie should stop publicly endorsing Jean Todt for the FIA presidency, and also, the fact that Mosely said that Todt will be a continuation is a bad thing, because right now the way the FIA is being run is bad for motorsport. And the way Max and Bernie have been running F1 in the past 4-5 years is responsible for many of the crises we've been seeing recently. He (Stewart) said that what's needed most in the FIA leadership is change, not the same old style.

Imho your bang on the money there.

Tbh he has too much affiliation with Ferrari for my liking anyway :/
@ Chet and Team CLR: OK, thanks :) I totally agree with you. Mosley should keep himself out of this. He himself (or Bernie, I don't remember exactly) said that he wanted a more transparent and democratic FIA. If you want it to be more democratic, then he should stop trying to influence the people who are going to vote.
Finished watching FP1&2 highlights after a 3hr marathon. Just found out from there that Marlboro's quitting. Feeling sad, very very sad :(

If anyone follows my tweets: yes you're right it's from there, I just couldn't be bothered to type something new. Speaking of which, why did I just type this?

Yes, it would definitely be the end of the era. Looking back at past decades, its amazing how many teams/drivers they sponsored at any one team, from small logos on helmets, driver suits and cars to some of the most famous and long-lasting sponsorships in F1 history.

One can only hope ;)
It was funny today when the Renault spun.

Looks like it could be a close rase, the track is so bumpy though.

[RANT]I'm sorry to go OT here, but that is SO weak, I've been watching F1 since 1994, and I've seen Marlboro, Benson & Hedges, Gitanes, Gaulouises, 555, Lucky Strike, Rothmans, Mild Seven (but to name a few) And has any of that made me want to smoke? No! (I don't smoke at all) The whole reasoning behind this is pretty flaky, and is messing up the sport. They could have at least made the cars carry some sort of warning instead (Frankly I'd think that to be a better option) but to pull it altogether is nonsense. [/RANT]

I agree, though technically arent 555, lucky strike and Rothmans the same company ? :p

Aside from that tabacoo companies bought the best liveries.

JPS, Rothmans, the old Benno's!

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL
True, but they're still 3 seperate brands that I've seen though.

Yeah for all the flak that Marlboro have received for continuing on after 06 they have financed a lot of young drivers over the years, too many to even pinpoint but I think they have been a credit to the sport as far as sponsorship goes

Also there where some pretty awesome liveries along the way as well... The 97-2000 Ferrari's looked incredible, funnily enough even when they did not carry the sponsors at GB, France and Germany
