I don't know if Dada will return with his contest, but it has been fun so I thought I'd start it - if Dada shows up he can take over.
So, get your predictions in
Dada's rules:
===============================================================
PREDICTION CONTEST CHAMPIONSHIP 2008 Each of your predictions must have :
- Prediction for the
top 8 finishers of the F1 race- Prediction for the
driver who gets the pole position- Prediction for the
pole position lap time- Prediction for the
Driver who will make the fastest lap of the race - Prediction for the
fastest lap time at the race.HOW THE POINTS ALLOCATION WORKS for the top 8 race drivers
- 4 points for each driver that is at the right position
- 2 points for each driver that is +-1 position away from right one
- 1 point for each Driver that is at the top 8 but he is more than 1 position away from the right one
For the Pole position and the fastest lap
DRIVERS
- 1 point if you predict correctly the polesitter.
- 1 point if you predict correctly the driver that does the fastest lap.
TIME
- 0.5 to 1.5 points if you predict with declination +-500 ms ( 0.500 sec ) the lap time of the pole position.
- 0.5 to 1.5 points if you predict with declination +-500 ms ( 0.500 sec ) the fastest lap time of the race.
The “time points” use a “analog way” of points conferment. The closer the member predict the time the more points he earns.
The “math formula” that gives the time points is:
TP '= 1.5 – I MPT – RT I *0.002 TP : Time Points
MPT : Member Prediction Time
RT : Right time
I MPT – RT I : the always positive time difference ( no matter if the time difference is a positive or a negative number )
The member gets points from this section IF AND ONLY his time prediction has less than +-500 ms ( 0.500 sec ) time difference from the Pole of Fastest Pace lap time RULES 1.The
driver’s name must be written with his name in
initials only(example RS for Ralf Schumacher , FA for Fernando Alonso )
2.The
lap time of the pole position lap time and the Fastest lap time at the race must be written in seconds:milliseconds NOT AT minutes:seconds:milliseconds
( wrong : 1 min 12 sec 408 ms ----> Right : 72408 ms )
3.The member must do his prediction in one post
4.YOU MUST POST THE F1 2008 SEASON TEAM THAT YOU ARE SUPPORTING AT YOUR FIRST POST IN THE CONTEST.
( ex. Team Supporter : Ferrari )
If by your sign is obvious that’s your favorite F1 2007 season team … thanks.
Don’t forget …there is a “manufacturers” championship also.
5.YOU CAN EDIT YOUR POST as many times you want BUT you can only do this BEFORE THE START OF THE OFFICIAL QUALS
6.The end of the prediction posting is the moment that the Official Qualifing starts.
I will post a thank you post for your predictions and I will take a print of them . This post will be used as a mark ... no more prediction posts after the mark post will be accepted.
7.Official results taken from [www.f1.com]
8.If a driver is replaced at the “last minute” (after a member has posted his prediction ), we accept that the new driver takes the prediction position.
9.If the driver that makes the Pole time ( at the Qualifying session ) get a 10 position penalty ( Kimi Raikkonen – Monza 2005 ), we accept that HE is the pole man and his lap time becomes the pole position lap time.
10.Myself (Anthony ) or the GPG mods will start a topic 2-3 days before the race at the race week with the title “Prediction Contest 2008 : GP …. “ where the members will post their predictions ( no comments will be allowed at this topic …only predictions )
11.Myself ( Anthony ) or the GPG mods will start ONE topic with the title “Prediction Contest 2008 – results , comments etc ) where you can make all your comments.
12.There is NOT a winning Trophy. We do it just for fun.
EXAMPLE FOR A PREDICTION AND POINTS ALLOCATION
Members prediction:
TOP 8:
1.FM
2.RB
3.RS
4.JPM
5.DC
6.KR
7.JT
8.FA
POLE POSITION:
FM - 85159
FASTEST LAP:
RB - 86816
Official results
1. Τakuma Sato
2. Rubens Barrichello
3. Felipe Massa
4. Giancarlo Fisichella
5. Kimi Raikkonen
6. David Coulthard
7. Ralf Schumacher
8. Fermando Alonso
Pole position : Felipe Massa – 84500
Fastest Lap : Jenson Button – 87000
How the points are allocated:
TOP 8 Drivers
- Drivers in the correct position : 2
( RB and FA )
Points : 2 * 4 '= 8
- Drivers in +-1 position away from the right one : 2
(KR – predicted 6th – finished 5th / DC – predicted 5th – finished 6th )
Points : 2*2 '= 4
- Drivers in Top 8 but more than 1 position away from the final position : 2
( FM – predicted 1st – finished 3rd / RS – predicted 3rd – finished 7th )
POLE POSITION
Prediction : FM - 85159
Pole position : FM – 84500
Right Driver prediction : 1 point
Wrong Time prediction : 0 points ( 85.159 – 84500 '= 659 > +_ 500 )
FASTEST RACE LAP TIME
Prediction : RB - 86816
Fastest Lap : JB – 87000
Wrong Driver : 0 points
Right time prediction : 86816 – 87000 '= - 184 < +-500 )
so the points he gets from this one is : 1.5 – 184*0.002 '= 1.132
TOTAL POINTS '= 8 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1.132 '= 16.134
CHAMPIONSHIPS
We can have 3 individual championships.
***Points Championship***
Each driver gets the points what become from his prediction
(so the member at the example will get 16.134 points )
Due to the “bad look” that the 3 decimal numbers gives … the results at the total board will be announced in 2 decimals (using Microsoft’s Excel rule)
***Team Championship ***
The 2 best performances for each Team supporters members gives their points to the F1 TEAM.
Example:
The top 3 Ferrari fans
Member A '= 12.450
Member B '= 12.163
Member C '= 11.505
Ferrari takes : 12.450 + 12.163 '= 24.613 points
* If a F1 team is supported by ONE member , gets ONLY his points
***Position Championship ( F1 Style )***
Using the results that everyone got for his prediction we can see the top 8 performances of each race .
P1 performance gets 10 points
2nd best gets 8 points
3rd best gets 6 points … etc ( using the real F1 points system )
