If this is true i think this is a great thing for FI. Force India have prooved that new regulations are bringing down costs and increasing effectiveness. With the smallest budget they are still only around one and a half seconds off the pace (in general).

I also like this idea as it should make them more competitive and also put Paul di Resta into the frame for an F1 drive who is an extremely talented driver.

Thoughts from people?? Cooperation is a good idea for me what with smaller teams soon not being able to be customer teams, hopefully this is a way of boosting involvement for smaller F1 teams.

and then in a freak race you have the small team ahead of the big team, for points, and you see the driver of the small team just let the big team driver go.

Like how Sauber used to be the easiest team to pass for Ferrari?

McLaren/Mercedes want to have a B team like everyone else, they've been feeling left out.

frankly anything that helps to keep force india on the grid would be a good thing.

those that bang on about it being time for Frank and Patrick to sell up, or pointed and laughed at super aguri should instead be greatful for these people. They go racing simply because they enjoy it.

Toyota, Renault, BMW and co, will be in F1 for as long as it suits them. with the global credit crisis starting to bite, its going to be harder and harder for them to justify the investment. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one or more of them was to pull out in the next year or 2.

when they do leave, it will be the likes of williams, force india and red bull that will be left to keep F1 going. I really do hope that Max is able to force through cost-cutting measures. The independents are the life blood of this sport. F1 cannot afford to lose them.

Super Aguri were not a private team run on private money. they did not go racing because they enjoyed it. They were a PR recovery program for Honda when sacking Sato went badly. Aguri was always going to fail, just they failed in a way we didn't expect, with Honda stabbing them in the back.

As Honda couldn't stand anymore beating from its B team with older cars and supposedly inferior drivers, as we all know. Oh the envy of being efficient, eh Honda?

It was sad to see Super aguri go, they had some good results (Sato overtaking Alonso at Canada 2007 for instance). There are always teams at the back of any grid, they are not just there because they enjoy it, they are there to make sure their racing is financially viable and that their cars are competitive. FI could really do well with extra investment and technology as they have shown they are a good team this year (even with Fisichella)
