Hei guys, just posting some of Brian Lawrence's info here about overtaking per circuit in f1:

For the purposes of this analysis, I only count what I will term "genuine"
passing manoeuvres, which means that I always exclude:

a) any place changes made during pit stops
b) all lapping or unlapping manoeuvres
c) any place changes made during the first lap

Note: The number in brackets (ASP) is the average starting position in 2008
(grid position after any penalties have been applied).

Obviously, a driver who often starts from pole position has very little chance
to gain places while one who usually starts at the back of the grid has a good
chance of gaining places.

this is fantastic data, thanks!

it again shows why Canada should remain on the calendar, and confirms why barcelona, magny-cours and hungaroring are the most boring races

Funny that these are the tracks wich I dislike most of current "old" tracks. :P

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

I started reading with interest, but I have to admit I got drowned in too many numbers midway down. It looks an excellent find, and I would really appreciate somebody putting that into visual form.

BAR in 2003 was nice but unreliable, then good in 2004 and 2005 to compensate for his qualifying :P

Most Passes 1998-2008
=====================

Using only the data from my statistics these are all drivers who have achieved
50 or more passes.

206 R Barrichello *

154 M Schumacher

Wow... I can understand RB having so many after being at the mid-back of the grid except for Ferrari days, but Schumi, how did he have the opportunity to overtake that many cars whilst always leading!

:P :P

2013 - Nando must come through..

98,99,00 and 05/06 Shumacher worked pretty damn hard at overtaking.

Awesome stats btw!
