The penalty was correct. As usual Ferrari did not adhere to the rules.

Kimi already said Sorry to Sutil live on a couple of interviews he did after the race....so there is no need to doubt..he already did!!

itv commentators are such toss rags, comparing hamilton to senna with this win. hamilton crashed and was lucky to keep going, infact, the crash helped his strategy!. kubica, sutil and webber all drove much better, without errors. and with inferior cars, and yet itv will praise the british with exageration yet again.

Thats why he got the penalty. Why should Kimi get an extra 3 minutes to decide on his tires when the rest of the field has already chosen thiers?

According to Italian TV Ferrari put the tyres on Kimi's car 15 seconds after the 3 minute period started, that is he got 15seconds more than other drivers...but those are the rules and no one can complain about his penalty

Rules don't change just because it rains. Rules should be respected and if you don't, you will have to face the consequences.

I agree...Ferrari as a whole sucked today, and got the results they deserved TBH. The only driver that I feel should've gotten a better result is Kubica. If BMW made just a little bit of progress, he could be fighting for the championship.

colin colles was asked about the kimi sutil incident and he said he felt sorry for sutil but there´s no anger at kimi cause it was a racing incident/bad luck

See just what I was saying before it was a racing accident like all the others were.

yeah agree with you on that. If Massa or someone else had won the race they would just switch off their coverage at the given time of 3.20 but no it was Hamilton and they kept it on for 20 mins more

hahaha

Force India driver Adrian Sutil has been cautioned for overtaking under yellow flags during the rain-affected Monaco Grand Prix.

Sutil and the team's chief technical officer Mike Gascoyne were summoned to the steward's office after the race, and the German was reprimanded for passing Rubens Barrichello, Kazuki Nakajima and Nelson Piquet on lap 13.

Kimi got a penalty because Ferrari screwed up. They did not gain an advantage by putting the tyres on 15 sec later, it was clearly a miscommunication and a mistake. You can't say anyone cheated, but rules were broken and punishments were issued.

As for the accident discussion, put your fanboy caps away boys. Kimi caused an accident through his own driving error which (badly) effected another driver. That is punishable by the FIA rules, and whilst I'm quite a Kimi fan, you cannot claim otherwise. There was no damp patch (and I can't believe they even suggested it!), the car didn't break. He made the same mistake as DC and unfortunately Sutil just happened to be there.

Gav, I forgot about Vettel skipping the chicane. I suppose I ignore that one as it seems everybody skips that chicane at some point, but if I'm being strict about it then yup, you are correct. Sutil was the star, but when its dry hes just no where. Hes a great wet driver, but a below average dry one. He obviously has raw driving talent, but really needs to step it up in a regular race.

Piquet was hilarious, as usual. Pottered around at the back, making up positions when others had issues. Looked completely invisible, other than when he was being a road block. Changed to slicks and immediately put it in the wall. Piquet is the new Massa it seems.

Massa was good, except for that 1 off. Hes just lucky that he didn't have the off in the same place Lewis did. Saved by tarmac run off at Monaco, there is something wrong about that. Good drive, but didn't deserve the position.

Well Schumacher famously went off at the same point in '97, the race he dominated. It's an area that needs a runoff area there as it is one of the two "straights" in Monaco for example if a car has a brake failiure or if one car hits another and cannot brake like Piquet and Patrese in '85.

Ms also hit an arrows at the same place Kimi did. I think he hit Diniz.

Yeah, I agree that you need that run off. I meant its kinda strange that you can even do that at Monaco. Have an off and hit nothing.

I still stand by my opinion that drivers like Lewis, Alonso, Kimi and Massa didn't deserve the positions they got. The top guys all got out-shone by the lower guys today, but sadly all we get to hear is how awesome Lewis is.

I think Alonso got the position he deserved. He drove quite well in the first half of the race, but in the end he started to make mistakes.

However, I think there were more driver's who failed today then driver who did good. Ofcourse, on or two mistakes on such a track aren't bad, conditions were though, but most of the drivers made one mistake too many ;)

(As far as I can judge ofcourse, never driven a 800 hp f1 car on a wet track in Monte Carlo ;))

One last thing to say for: Kimi, Nelsinho, DC, the team ferrari (for again not checking hotmail considering their tyres ;)) and all those others who really did not do a good job today:

EPIC FAIL.
