So little that you got all 3 of the stated facts wrong? :D

Perhaps on subjects you're not so sure on you come across a little less knowing or just miss them out completely? Opinionatedness is fine, you just gotta learn how to play it ;-)

Ralf's crash into Barrichello at Melbourne a couple of years back was pretty spectacular as the car kinda just took off. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was hoping at the time he wouldn't just fly into the barriers!

There was a GP2 accident in Magny Cours i believe last year, with a car getting airborne, almost hitting a viaduct, and almost flying over the wall, almost hitting some stewards which were almost to close at the wall.

In short, when there were a few almost less, problably several people would have died, but because they didn't, i call it spectacular :)

Not the silly crash at the start but the one that takes place after the adelaide hairpin

Beh, it was late.

Edited the post, anyway. Still can't find the year!

Dario Franchitti - Michigan 400 - 2007

;-)

His crash the weekend after was no better.

//edit: if I must, I'll nominate Fisichella's crash into Shinji Nakano in 1998. His lesser remembered practice crash there in 2000 wasn't unspectacular either.

1) Kenny Brack (2003)
2) Robert Kubica (Canada 2007)
3) Martin Brundle (Melbourne 1996)
4) Jacques Villeneuve and Ralf Schumacher (Melbourne 2001)
5) Luciano Burti and Michael Schumacher (Hockenheim 2001)

Another terrific one is a practice crash in Silverstone (2000 or 2001), whose protagonist was Ricardo Zonta with his BAR, which literally came out of the track.

surely no crash is 'terrific'?

Right, they are both "terrific" and spectacular. At least they have not been "deadly" (except for the marshall died in Melbourne in 2001)

Just opening this one out a bit more, I am also thinking of the series of crashes at turn 3 Interlagos when the track turned into a river. None were 'terrifying' but just so many of them. Was that '02 or '03. Whatever year, the race was finally given to Fisi? in the Jordan after stewards got it wrong after the black flag. Anyone got the list of drivers who went off that time?

twas 2003

"The result was a puddly trap that ensnared Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli who spun simultaneously, Justin Wilson and Jos Verstappen who stalled their Minardis and retired, Juan-Pablo Montoya and Antonio Pizzonia who crashed with moderate force on the same lap, Michael Schumacher who recorded his first retirement since Germany 2001, Jenson Button whose crash was the most serious at that corner, and Webber himself, whose save and recovery from a wild spin was simply a miracle."

I'd place Fisichella's Spa crash in 2005 in this list as well.

Well, not wrong, but it isn't particularly good for your keyboard and monitor.

I think somebody forgot the mess after the start at Spa in 1998!
