I think Magny-Cours is alright as a track to drive on, but I can't remember a single race there that was particularly interesting. Still prefer it over the dreadful Shanghai.

Paul Ricard has hosted some great races in the '70s and '80s but it's probably not going to host a GP, it'll probably go to EuroDisney but then the drivers will complain about it being a Mickey Mouse circuit. ;)

@Chet, Monaco doesn't have grandstands, they can just be put up the week leading to the GP.

From Autosport(the mag not web):

"Plans for a Paris street race have been dicarded due to bureaucratic difficulties needed to stage such an event, but Autosport understands that a site in nearby Orly (Ya Rly!) has been earmarked as the location for a temporary facility that could be activated on an annual basis and which could use the 'Paris GP' tag."

EuroDisney?
The drivers are already complaining about too many of those Tilke -designed "Mickey Mouse" corners!
If Tilke designed Shanghai in the shape of the Chinese caracter for 'Shang', what's he going to do with this one?!

Yeah so imo the only two things interestin ever at Mangy Cours were a) 1999 when Frentzen won in the wet and b) 2003 when Montoya got his knickers in a twist over Ralphs early stop

If the French GP moved to Paul Ricard, the race would be as boring as the Spanish GP. Teams also test a lot there.

Too fast, laps in GP3 I've done are under 1 minute, in F1 they're BOUND to be under a minute, and traffic will be an issue. It's too fast and too short for F1, plus some of the corners look a little too fast and too dangerous for modern F1 standards. Might be good for testing though!

the other mildly interesting thing happened in '04 was when MS beat Alonso by doing 4 stops. frankly, he could have done 8 stops and still won, such was the superiority of the Bridgestone/Ferrari combo, so it's a bit fake.
