yeah it's crazy. i bought mine from HMV's website, £12.99 delivered, same as Play.com. ordered it last monday, it arrived today, but on thursday last week i got an email saying it had been dispatched. must just be the Christmas blockage in the delivery system.

This review takes what was a brilliant season for racing and action, and ruins it with shoddy directing, and poor editing. I wish they'd go back to the style used in the late nineties. My 1998 tape got so worn out from repeated plays that I had to buy a new one...

as far as i can see, the reviews went downhill as soon as they went to DVD (2003), meaning they were just interested in segmenting the review to cover each race, with no "story" running throughout. i agree, the late 90's review were great, there was a sense of real drama and storytelling in the way the footage was shown, the music they used, the little sub-plots they discussed.

now it's just a few seconds about the venue, a quick review of qually, then into the race and a little bit of post-race info, that's it, bish bash bosh.

my favourites of the recent seasons are the '97 and '98 ones, plus the '00 and '02 reviews.

The last good one was 1997 IMO. The lat really good one was 1995.

watched the extras and the main review up until the Silverstone race.

DC was funny in the interview thing, and why were there no subtitles for Flavio's bit?

and yes Kubica was funny with his reply about whether he'd seen his Canada crash on tv or not.

That video was about 3 hours long wasn't it? But yeah, exactly what Muks was saying. The later reviews dont have that sense of drama

Maybe they are only single sided disks (4.5GB). IF it is only on one disk, it may be the DL (9GB) disks.

what Region Code is that GP3?

the UK versions are only 1 disc and we don't even get that little leaflet!

and yes our version is a dual-layer DVD, it's 7.65GB according to my DVD drive.

finished watching it the other day. there was no pole lap for Spa and China, IIRC.

and we finally saw the full onboard shot of Alonso crashing out at Fuji.

also we saw that he shook his fist at the pitwall at Indy, the time when he said he only swerved towards the pitwall to cool his tyres or something.

and we saw the proper shot with audio of Lewis at Brazil when his car went into neutral, as Ralv585 said on the previous page, so it wasn't his fault, the car cut-out itself under braking.

The 1997 review was awful IMHO. It was much, much shorter than the rest and lots of bits were repeated. Compared to the two that flanked it (i.e. '96 and '98, my two favourites), it was a poor piece of work. It was saved by the fact that the '97 season was amazing, and the sheer closeness of the battles made up for the poor video.

I haven't actually got any season reviews post 2003, but I've been given the 2007 one for Christmas so will see how it goes.
