If MSC gets the title, will Kimi get number 0?
or even if he is not the world champion will he be allowed to get number 1 as the title was won by a ferrari driver?

Yes he will get 0. That is the number that is giving to the driver that isn't the WDC, but is driving the car that won the WDC.

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

Kimi or Massa will get it if Michael will win the title.

massa could get the 0.

Could this be the 1st time though a car with 0 wins the championship

And if Michael wins the driver's title, but renault the constructor's title? ;) Than what number everyone will get? For example, Kimi is in the car from the fastest driver of 2006, but not the fastest car you could say, because that's the renault ;)

I remember that when Prost won the World Championship Title then quit Williams,
Damon who ran for Williams has had the number 0.

I would like to know if it necessary have to be number 0?
Nobody got the number 27 since years.

Heh, you're right.

Hill had 0 for 1993.

27 hasn't been used since 1995.

IIRC they changed the rules for '96, to say that basically the cars got assigned their numbers due to championship results, with any new entrants getting numbers after that. It'll be buried in the regs on the FIA site, i'm sure.

Aye, a few years back (2001 maybe, seems to stick out for me) they announced team's could begin to choose their numbers again (but this time only up to 23 so there were no 'gaps';) but a couple of week later then decided to stick with the championship positions format. I'm not exactly sure when this was but it'll be buried somewhere in the FIA press archive.

I think it's just that people think 13 is the unlucky number and no-one would want to drive with it.

I remember when Prost in '93 was asked if he wanted to have the 0 on his car or 2 and he said who wants to be a zero!

that makes no sense, because as you say, if he doesn't win the title, (therefore meaning Alonso won it) why would a ferrari driver get number 1 or 0 anyway, Alonso would have it at McLaren. the number 1 goes with the driver, not the team he won the title with.

it could be Massa 0 and Kimi 2, or the other way round, if MS wins.

you would think the driver who has been with the team longer would get the "better" number, but if MS wins, the they may give Kimi the 0 and Massa 2, if they think Kimi is better than Massa (like i do). like Button and Rubens, Button has been at BAR/Honda before Rubens, yet Rubens got 11 and Button 12.

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael

Isn't 11 Barrichello's favourite number so Buttton let him have it? I seem to remember there being a reason behind it anyway.
