"I don't agree the circuit should dissapear from the calender! We had nice races in the past but the influence that they all keep on testing on that track has bad consequences for the race. The gaps are to big..."

If they made the last corner much tighter and slower then cars could follow each other closely going into the main straight and then we'd have overtaking.

Would you like to turn the first complex into a lot of hairpins then? What about turn 3, another hairpin? Would that make you happy?

Regardless of whether it allows for overtaking, the fact is that it's amazing watching these 600kg cars blast round a tight corner at 150-160mph. It's good for that reason. It's like Magny Cours, it's loaded with chicanes, but it's impressive seeing them shoot through at such high speeds.

No. It's just a suggestion to many who felt that the race was boring. Personally i like the last two fast corners but the majority of people want to see cars passing each other and it just doesn't happen much there.

Or 1996...

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10; indeed, it's a common requirement in fairy tales. If the human didn't have to overcome huge odds, what would be the point? Terry Pratchett - The Science Of Discworld

watching the cars from a rear shot of them through the last 2 corners at Barca was amazing, they showed it a little bit in the qually show, the change of direction was unbelievable.

but with fast corners of course the car behind can't close up and therefore doesn't have a high chance of passing at the end of the straight.

if they allow them to test there so much, they should remove it from the race calendar, or ban testing on any track that is on the race calendar.

Lap 2: Coulthard passes Montagny.
Lap 6: Villeneuve passes Montagny.

yeah i read that, there's definite proof that something needs to be done. i've no idea how to go about fixing that myself tho! but the more worrying thing is, neither do the FIA, so it seems...

I wish! Those were proper racing cars with the right amount of aero versus mechanical grip.

The only problem with those sort of corners is that it's still difficult to overtake. An F1 car just accelerates so quickly, all the driver in front has to do is slow the guy right down and floor it, nothing he can do unless he can match the exact time he floors it which is not likely.

spain is always like that due to the testing as well.

once they sort the cars out will be better but saying that gp2 was dull as well.

no we have monaco no passing or very hard, then canada again hard and france

Canada is alreet for overtaking though.

So is France.

I hope JV does well in Cananda! :D

I hope Alonso, now a champion goes into the champions wall, while being chased hard by Shumi ;)

France sucks for overtaking. Last year trulli made a whole coloumn after him and no one was able to overtake him.

there is one place to pass in france really but they can not follow close through the fast corner anymore so that chance is near enough gone.

Canada is not easy to pass either again 2 real places but one into the last corner is very very risky.

Infact i think there was more passing in monaco last year than in france

god i wish the current drivers would stop going on about how busy the track will be in monaco.

We used to have 24 cars on the track until a few years back with 1 lap quali.
