PENSKE LINKED TO F1 RETURN- Other Teams To Join?

Giant US racing corporation Penske is considering a return to Formula 1, according to a report in The Guardian newspaper.

Penske has been the most successful team in the US single-seater scene for the last 30 years and also runs a front-running NASCAR franchise.

Owner Roger Penske is believed to have made contact with Bernie Ecclestone about entering a team in F1 in 2008 on the caviat that it will be able to operate on a profit through the FIA's recently-announced low-budget regulations.

big private team could be andretti green racing.mario was wc,michael raced I think one season in early 90's and michaels son marco is racing indy cars next year.

no, michael andretti already said he doesn´t want his golden boy (marco) in a european category...
it will be a penske!!!! they will close their operations on IRL and go to de F1 in 2008 only the costs reduce too much...

f1 will be full of small teams apart from ferrari as the other teams move to the new championship

what whould u watch f1 with ferrari, rbr, williams, midland

or one with bmw, mclaren, toyota, honda

Racing is racing...doesn't matter if its a ferrari or a mclaren to me. Put 2 cars on the road and race, i'll still watch it.

In most countries though (Austaralia for example) the manufacturers won't create any interest for TV companies unless they create the best racing you can buy on TV.

F1 has a name in Australia and they will keep on showing it. When it comes to the biggest market of manufacturers (the US) how long will it take to create a credible fan base for the series? How long has it taken for F1?

Individual manufacterer's will never be comitted to such a deal.

bmw, mclarern [mercedes], toyota and honda will most likely sign the concorde agreement before we see a new series IMO

Looks like Mosley isnt too bothered with the manufactured...more teams likely?

FIA president Max Mosley has claimed that there are several new teams waiting in the wings ready to join a revamped, lower-cost Formula 1 from 2008.

As things stand, five of the 10 teams which competed in F1 last season have signed up to the new Concorde Agreement proposed by F1 commercial boss Bernie Ecclestone

yes but he is missing the point, the cars will be slower than other forms of motor sport

as long as there is overtaking nobody cares, I would watch go kart races if it were called F1

I might be a little OT but im a little against all these moves to create artificial overtaking chances. i'd rather have a little of it than too much of it. if there's too much of it we'd never be able to enjoy races like Suzuka 2005 and would just take it for granted...

Most people don't know what they want and don't have the knowledge to comment on stuff !
