Newey leaving McLaren for Red Bull

Speculations are mounting that technical director Adrian Newey will be leaving McLaren to join Red Bull Racing next season.

Well very important this gives redbull a fighting chance and surely signals the end of mclaren start of merc

damn it, great loss for mclaren. he is the father of mp4-20.

Not that a great loss really, aerodynamics play a part for sure, but the engine and tyres equally, Newey finest hours were in 98 and 99 when Mclaren won 2 titles back to back when the overall package was right, whats newey done since?

He's just a cog same as everyone else in the mclaren machine.

SWEET! Newey and DC were said to have an excellent relationship at McLaren. DC might just become a front runner again if Newey designs the next red Bull machine!

This is good news for RedBull, obviously, but I think it's important for McLaren too. Even with someone as talented as Newey, everyone needs a change and a re-shuffle now and again.

It's now Official! RB have confirmed it. He'll join in February.
I doubt there's enough time to influence this years car, but they may get some tweaks done during the season.

mclaren won before him and they will win after him. They have enough good people to do a job and i still dont buy into the fact that newy did not mess up on the 18 and 19.

They were his cars till they went wrong. And the 20's areo package was done by the old ferrari guy they mclaren signed.

2007 RedBull will be based on 2006 McLaren, as 1998 McLaren was based on 1997 Williams.

I know those cars looked different, but Frank coplained a hell lot about Adrian giving Williams info to McLaren.

Yes, i think that MP4-20 was made by some other guys, in TV they told about a old ferrari guy, with a supervision of Adrian.
