Dunno, but I like something in that design. And to be honest something is needed to be done to improve overtaking, and this looks promising.

It doesn't look that bad actually... I kinda like crazy and radical designs on F1 cars...

Is it me but according to the pictures, does it look like they are gonna go back to big rear slicks? ummm... lol

i thought the problem with over taking was the little flip ups on the cars so ban them surely ? i can't help thiking that looks balls

now i'm crying, offcourse i want overtaking but i also want a very very fast car that is were formula one stands for. if i ask someone ho gives a @#$%& about formula 1. he will say that are the cars that go so fast right. if i want slow cars and more overtaking i go to the GP2 series. everything what formula 1 stands is destroyd. i want formula one the way its was in 03 04 beuatiful cars how go fast. sure less aerodinamica helps overtaking but the speed go's bye bye

I'll stop watching F1 if they introduce that ugly design for the cars...a1gp took care of the overtaking thing without haveing an ugly car...can't see the problem of doing something similar, but nooooo, you gotta do the ugliest possible choice for the sport....sheesh...

Lol. NOW I've seen everything.

I don't like the look of this, usually I'm all for inovation/progression but something has been very wrong in the direction the 'sport' is technically evolving over the last few years to me. It's like they had the perfect product and have been so badly scarred by Ferrari and the bankrupt teams that they are just shredding the whole thing.

Oh well, I guess either way we have to just wait and see how it works...it might be great :/

Seriously doubt it...F1 is about speed and overtaking yes, but it never was at the cost of ugly cars :-/ I mean, you can't deny that the 2005 McLaren is something of pure beauty

I think teams won't want this wing, 'cause they will loose a big space for sponsors!!!

I like it - it's a good aerodynmaic solution, and will definitely improve the racing. The only posts above which I even consider coming close to a sensible reason not to introduce it are those who have posted about sponsors.

If people complain about the lack of overtaking in F1, they have no right to complain about an FIA scheme which aims to provide more overtaking in F1.

there was no problem with overtaking years ago with normal rear wings. The problem has been since the grooved tyres and all the flip ups on the cars.

Well, but surely the professionals know better than us how to improve overtaking?

As Locke Cole said, if we have wanted FIA to improve overtaking in F1, we should not have any need to complain when they actually try to improve it.

The only way it is going to happen is if they can find a way of getting back the teams lost sponsorship

they do, but the FIA don't listen to them, they just want to impose their own ideas and give the team bosses a selection of stupid ideas from which they have to pick one and like it.

all they have to do is reduce the overall dimensions of the front and rear wings, allow only 1 element (adjustable) and limit the angle of attack,and ban sidepod aero devices and give back fat rear slicks and narrower front slicks. maybe reintroduce undercar aero, so high downforce can still be achieved, without creating 'dirty air'.
