if ppl say any1 is the 'next senna' they say fa, which somehow i very much doubt.. senna is 1.. senna is senna. alonso\button are themselves

you can't compare today young drivers to senna, prost, etc. Today the cars drive almost by them self, but 20 years back drivers had to work much harder and you could really see who's a really good driver, not like today when car means more than a driver.

On the flipside, its all too easy to say these cars drive themselves, and the drivers are much worse than in the old days.

Its rather unfair on current drivers who are *very* good indeed to be brushed off as far worse than their predecessors just because of the era they drive in. Throw away the rose tinted glasses.

I'm not saying Button et al are Senna esque, but let's not belittle the high skill they genuinely possess.

The cars may drive themselves, but as Prost said, it is how they are driven nowdays that makes the different

A bad driver will use TC to make himself stable and confident. But he'll be slow. A Good driver uses it as a tool to increase his speed

Same goes for other such aids.

thats very poetic.. if thats the rite word..

watching the Alonso button battle at Turkey was interesting... vewing the TC overlay..

JB gradually threaded the throttle.. alonso braked earlier throttled earlier.. but im guessing thats standard practise for defensive driving.. after all exit speed is more important that entry speed

yeah Alonso did a similar thing in Imola when holding off MS, slowing down a lot in the middle of the two chicanes before Tosa and also in the two Rivazza's (sp?)

5Omil for Button is almost as stupid as having Takuma Sato in your car.
O, wait-nevermind-.

BAR has proven once again that they are not a team, let alone an organisation were people actually think about the money they have to spend.
If you think a driver is worth 50mil, you deserve a bullet in your eye.

It's time for something new...

Hey wait a sec people, BAR haven't actually paid 50 million yet, its just Williams asking for it. Williams are just floating a tester.

And they might as wel get it...

BAR has been stupid enough in the past, first win in their first season, yeah right.(1999)
They think they're smart, but it's them who actually create this entire hype around Button, al because they accidentally got their car right once last year, and al the other teams like McLaren and Williams proved fallible.Let's face it, Ferrari suffered no competition last year, not even from BAR and Button, so coming in third in the end doesn't make you worth 50mil, not even 20

no1 sed that hes worth £50mill :\

and in 1999 BAR didnt say that Craig Pollock and BAT sed that :) and the current BAR team is totally different.

Accidently got their car rite?? wtf?!?

Face it BAR built a better car than Williams and Mclaren and JB put it to better use than Sato.

Sato spent most the year trailing the Renaults, while JB fighting and/or leading them.

coming 1st doesnt make you worth £50mill. nothing makes you worth £50mill.

Ok

Of course I exagerated on the car thing, an F1 car is a complex building proces, I know.
But the point remains Button is far too overhyped for what he is capable of.
Sure, Sato was only fighting in the middle of the pack, but I always make this comparison, Button was no match for Fisichella or Trulli, and now Fisichella is certainly no match for Alonso (I wish he was), let alone Raikkonen.
To me that says enough about Button just being mediocre.
