I'd like to see Scott Speed do it. It'd be good to have an American driver in F1, and let's not forget the reason that the third seat is for little experience: to give them experience!

If Red Bull really want Klien to test, send him to Valencia to drive around for hours. Otherwise, let's see Mr. Speed in the car.

klein, lets be honest if they have a experiended driver they can gain valuble data, and a team like red bull needs as much help as possible, i think if they didnt use klein they would not be making the nost of the third car rule imo

the third car rules, means Klien can not drive it.

RBR are lobbying to get the rule changed so Klien can drive. Apparently McLaren and BAR have backed the rule change, but it needs a unanimous agreement from all the teams to get the rule changed. I really hope that the rule doesn't change. Surely we can always rely on Ferrari......!

Well, it doesn't really concern Ferrari because they can't run a third driver. Will it stop them interferring? Of course it won't

i also hope they don't change the rule. RB knew the rule before they decided they wanted to play musical chairs with Klien and Liuzzi. they should have just kept Klien for the whole year, and Liuzzi in the 3rd car, or took a gamble on Liuzzi to partner DC for the whole year.

i don't know much about the other two drivers, so can't comment on who should get the 3rd drivers role if Klien doesn't.

Put Scotty in!
Intrest in red bull here in the us would go through the roof, plus, i did see he was fastest at a barcelona test, so he obviously not slow... Plus liuzzi IMO is overrated.

The Flanker is gone. :(

yeh he was amazingly fast in a car which had 2004 regulation **rollseyes** it would be suprising if he wasnt fastest

Exactly, looks like marketing got preference over common sense.

tbh the rule is stupid wurz and pedro and zonta have lots of f1 experience so i think they should let klien drive the 3rd car

Klien has had plenty of time in the car. The whole point of the third driver rule is to show us new drivers (or drivers who haven't been around for a while), and give those third drivers an opportunity to display their sponsors. Wurz, Pedro and Zonta do have lots of F1 experience, but it's a good experience for them to display that they're capable of operating well at a race weekend.

And its also there to help the small teams with car setup as well.

but Marcl at some point in time, everyone agreed that if you've raced 6 or more times n the past 2 seasons, you can't be a 3rd driver. so if they're gonna turn round and let Klien be exempt, then what was the point of thinking of, then agreeing, then implementing the rule?

whether Pedro and Wurz have lots of experience doesn't matter, the fact is they can be 3rd driver cos they conform to the rule.

Klien cant drive the car because of that stupid rule.
So I think Scott. He was quicker than Jani at the test.

Perhaps Dietrich Mateschitz can persuade Christian Horner and Peter Sauber to let Klien drive for Sauber for the rest of the season, or Luizzi, if he doesn't impress the RBR people (Heck Sauber already have made a seat for him, so why not?) I know it doesn't solve the immediate problem but at least that way both Klein and Luizzi can settle down and focus on the rest of the season.
