Jacques Villeneuve.

Alex Wurz used to be BMX Wolrd Champion but never really got anywhere in F1 (actually a pity).

Does anyone know how far off Colin McRae was in his Jordan test a few years back? I'm pretty sure he was close enough to be offered a contract by Ford, but turned it down...

Huh?

offered a contract by ford for what? while driving a jordan peugeot! ;) he just did a few laps in a 95 jordan in 96, nothing worth drawing a comparison on i dont think

Colin McRae has driven Jordan car in 2 different years
Also Stewart team did ask McRae to test their car (1999)... And there was something going on end of last year/early this year but McRae said he is too old for F1...

And he doesnt even want to drive full season in WRC next year. Only few rallies with Skoda and some off-road rallies with Nissan... And wants to drive at Le Mans again...

Jordan test in 1996 was second time! Earlier was about year 1994/1995. And that is not rumour...

really? can you provide anymore info? i dont see a reason to test the jordan back then tbh, it was sponsor related in 96 and theres no reason a word rally championship newbie (as he was still in 94) would test an F1 car

edit : also, thinking about it, having read his autobiography, there is no mention of this alledged test

If there were only three seconds, although in a 58 sec track, it was great. Anyway, he does not have experience in car racing and it is very different than motogp... constancy, setup "tips"...but it would be a great marketing manouvre!!
Do you think ferrari will risk that much???
