Why idiot? That's a rather unqualified comment. 100% of the grid would be idiots then.

I bet Ferrari will find a loophole and say only parts had to be changed and get away with it.

It didn't really look like a drivers error - more like something went wrong with the car. I don't like MS, but only and idiot would call him an idiot for that. :p

Going by the photos an oil & filter change will not help, 11th position at best
on grid.
But its Michael is in a Ferrari he will still be well in the points at the flag,
unless it P`s it down like last year.

damn, those suspension parts were meant to be on Rubens' car.

The mechanics will have hell to pay when MS gets back to the pits!!

Did someone notice that the Minardis were faster in practice then last year's pole? Even if qualy isn't about speed anymore it shows how much thge cars have developped in the last 1.5 years.

Rubens Barrichello continued his perfect weekend by topping pre-qualifying at his home race in Brazil.

Barrichello, who set the fastest times in both Friday and Saturday practice, pipped Juan Pablo Montoya to top spot.

Montoya had become the first man this weekend to dip under the 1m10s barrier early in the session. But Barrichello, one of the last cars to go out because of his retirement in Suzuka, went four-hundredths of a second faster than the Colombian.

Michael Schumacher was fourth quickest after switching to the spare car following his big crash late on in practice.

However, the German will lose 10 places on the grid whatever he does in second qualifying because he changed engine after his accident earlier in the day.

Jenson Button was a disappointing 11th. But David Coulthard provided better news for British race fans by outpacing team-mate Kimi Raikkonen.

First qualifying times from Interlagos

1 BARRICHELLO Ferrari 1m09.822s

2 MONTOYA Williams 1m09.862s

3 MASSA Sauber 1m09.930s

4 M.SCHUMACHER Ferrari 1m10.192s

5 R.SCHUMACHER Williams 1m10.258s

6 SATO BAR 1m10.373s

7 COULTHARD McLaren 1m10.418s

8 RAIKKONEN McLaren 1m10.440s

9 FISICHELLA Sauber 1m10.467s

10 TRULLI Toyota 1m10.478s

11 BUTTON BAR 1m10.607s

12 ALONSO Renault 1m10.637s

13 VILLENEUVE Renault 1m10.708s

14 WEBBER Jaguar 1m11.230s

15 ZONTA Toyota 1m11.315s

2nd qualy:

MS about 1.5 slower than he has been in free practice. I bet he's on a one stopper and will win the race from P14 or 15. :s

yeah, 80% chance of rain.

MS' accident seemed like he hit the bump, which sent the car into a slight oversteer, which he corrected, but speared him off the track. the impact was big, and he came to rest very quickly. good job there were soft tyres there. they didn't say anything about it being a suspension failure.

still, Mark Blundell thinks Kimi will win, with RB 2nd and MS 3rd.

I think any of the top 3 could win it.

and there was confirmation of the qually system for next year.
