Hehe. :D

Only 8 finished the Indy 500 that year apparently, none of which were less than a minute behind, so I don't know if it started raining when the chequer came out or something.
BTW, good win to Webber. Double BTW, how are you gav? I don't float around here much anymore and I miss you and DaveEllis and Danm and whatnot
WOW what a Race. Start Grosjean my candidate for win went flying and out lol. Great Job by Felipe up to p6 at start and looked quicker than fernando but as we know he saved tyres to push at end of stint. Still i think Felipe can build on this and now go onto Canada and Win lol.

Brilliant Job by Mark he deserves it and also Nico on p2. Poor Lotus today Kimi struggeld like hell out there.
Looks to me like the cold temps played heavily against em.

Thriller at end with spots of Rain. Gotta say Heikki well done P13 for quite a time in Race holding up Button very very well. btw does someone remember Jenson sayin Fernando is not a worry this season. Look where he is now and where jenson is lol.

Roll on Montreal cant wait

Jenson's been extremely disappointing lately, I'm not sure what's gone wrong. Maybe it's about time they find a 'crack' in the chassis.

Having said that, Webber wasn't great in Bahrain or Spain and he bounced back, so who knows what Button might do in Canada.

Well done to Webber!

My driver of the day was Alonso. Quiet but effective. Come on Ferrrai...PUSH now!

The Racing God's deserted Schumacher at Suzuka 2006. It was such an obvious and complet desertion on that day; it's still obvious. I'm finally going to say it: He never should have come back.

Does anyone else have an opinion on the start and the drivers who gained going "off-track". In all fairness they should have given places back to those who lost out in the melee and went round the first corner properly, at least those who lined up ahead of them. In past races they would have been out. Really irritated me when Vettel ended up 6th but others as well.
I think it kinda sucks, but when there's an accident hapenning right in front of you, that's like a roll of the dice. I think the stewards got it right in the moment.
I blame Grosgean.

In all fairness? Maybe so.

Would it have been at all practical to have about half a dozen cars all having to give up places, even under the safety car? I don't think so.

Personally, I hate the abundance of pavement around F1 tracks because it doesn't punish drivers (I don't believe it's safer either). But once you put the pavement down I don't really think you can punish guys for driving on it, especially in a situation like this.

Still think you could put a safety car out and have the original grid order who had survived line up in correct order, in an incident like this after 1st corner.

Yeah, I'm good. Making the most of the epic weather we're having in the UK this weekend... but I guess you we've still got quite a bit to learn from you. :D

Are you hanging about anywhere in particular at the moment?
So happy for Mark. he made my day! Great drive for all first 6 guys, especially Vettel (at one point I got really scared that he could actually win it!).
Interesting fact (if I'm not to wrong); Webber leads Vettel 4:2 in qualy... something unthinkable last year ;-)

don't know where to start

Alonso, what a driver, you give him a small little chance and he'll make it a big opportunity, great job getting there

Button's been on vacation these last 15 days, what the hell happened?, that was utterly embarrasing, is he taking the Massa route?

good to see Felipe doing well, and imho he was faster than Fernando, he would've gotten on the podium had he qualified higher than Fernando., but that's the thing with Monaco i guess, the race start on Saturday.

looking forward to Canada i'm putting the bet on Michael being the 7th different winner, he made a good start as usual and was looking to jump Alonso and Grosjean but Massa made a great start and that made a 4 wide.. i think Grosjean should've looked on the mirror a bit more tbh, he's had avoidable accidents with Maldonado and 2 with Schumacher now, sometimes it just seems the car is faster than him

shame about Kimi the team gambled on rain and they spoiled Kimi's race

and yep, that's the best finish i've ever seen in Monaco, if only it would've rained a bit harder i'm sure it would've been epic!

Great drive by Webber today done what he needed to do.

Alonso great drive as well he's the stand out driver this year.

Also what the hell is Button doing, thats 3 bad races in a row now.

They really need to sort this Q3 thing out now, either do a time or start on Q2 tyres. There are drivers out there giving it their all and someone beats them as they start on what tyres they want. I said it after Spain and am saying it again now, its bad sportsmanship. Last year Vettel would never have done this.

Also if you go by the rule book you can only blame MS for the start line, he was going in a gap that was always closing and he was never far enough along side. Also where the hell was he going to go apart from the wall, he would have got to turn one and be no where. Sorry but he was wrong in this case as totally stupid for putting his car there he was lucky to keep going.

I think Lewis will win in Canada, but a Merc will be on pole due to the DRS.

Last year Vettel was winning every race from pole.

You do what you have to do.

As for Schumacher, yeah, it was his fault that Grosjean and Alonso crashed into each other and Grosjean was pushed into him. The rule book states that, generally, you're at fault if you're behind, as in Barcelona. Schumacher wasn't - Grosjean just wasn't aware he was there.

MS put himself in a stupid place though with no where to go.

Tbh I have watched it again and its more 50/50 I don't really blame any of them its a situation that can happen there. I doubt Grosjean even had time to look and see if there was a car there and tbh 9 out of 10 times you would not expect someone to be there. I just don't get where MS thought he was going to go even had they not clashed, the road bends to the right and then the corner. Had MS not backed off he would have been in the wall anyway. Glad no one got a penalty for it.

Yes Gav I agree you do what you have to do, but I would rather see a driver going for pole to try and win rather than a driver doing @#$%& all and then pick the best tyres. I really hope they get this situation sorted out soon.

Vettel got lucky at turn 1 and in regards to cutting the corner and ending up infront of kimi, if he got stuck behind kimi his afternoon would have been ruined.

100% Grosjean's fault. Disregarding the Schumi part for a second, what the hell was he doing driving into the Ferrari like that?

He still behaves like a GP2 driver sometimes.

The GP2 start, by the way, was a right mess.

For those who didn't see:

Vettel was ahead of kimi before turn 1, at 1st I thought he passed by cutting the corner but he was ahead.

What an awful waste of time for me, and the drivers and the teams.

They do all sorts of prep work for tyre longevity etc, setup work... But what relevance does it have when the driver's are driving at 80% of their's and the car's potential.

Vettel's strategy was entirely compromised because Webber and co were not at full speed.

It was clever by Webber but IMO it could have cost RBR a 1-2. The longer they went into the first stint the less favourable Vettel's strategy became IMO.

Still, good work by RBR to bring Vettel back into it. The team once again proving they don't just build fast cars, they are the complete operation.

Ferrari were awesome, Alonso leading the title once again evidence he is king in this sport.

Mclaren were awful. Lewis was the only driver in the top 6 pushing the whole way IMO. The car is shite in a race. At Monaco, that doesn't matter but any other track and Lewis would have been well down the order. Mclaren's focus on one lap has bought them 1 win, 3 poles and a whole heap of disappointment.

Button was utter and complete shite. BUT Heikki was driving like a mad man!

Likewise, Perez when he turned in on Heikki at Ste Devote? Surely a complete replica of what Pastor did to him on Saturday? Perez drove into Heikki! Complete idiocy...

It was by far the worst Monaco GP I have ever, ever, ever seen. What a waste.

The only highlight of the weekend was Schumacher on his pole lap ONE HANDED through the swimming pool section :D! That was amazing!

Oh, also HUGE disappointment for Grosjean. I really enjoyed watching him this weekend, instead he messed up Q3, and messed up the start.. again.

I didn't watch the race live and I was glad for it. 6 winners in 6 races is great, and I am happy it was Mark. He IMO is the nearest thing to a Monaco specialist but surely for all spectators it was just a terrible race.

Monaco in the no refuelling era is just the biggest bore fest ever. I would in fact rather watch paint dry. There is ZERO strategy involved! I simply appreciated that Webber destroyed any chance of a Vettel victory by driving so slow.

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL
monaco is a great race. they only need top enable the DRS in the tunnel...and on the start finish straight. Then it will be a ROCK AND ROLL race weekend
