Roberto Carlos isn't what he used to be anymore. If you have a chance to watch the game, do it and then come back and tell me what you just said again. The dude was fixing his socks when Zidane launched the ball from a faul, and that left Henry with a clear path to the goal. There are people to go into his place that can do the job quite well. Don't forget we have loads of teams here in Brazil with plenty of good players.
Attack formation should be Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Robinho. With Robinho acting a little further back and moving from side to side to give Gaúcho space to play ahead, just like he does at Barcelona. He's not a mid-field man. Consequently, the mid-field should have had Ricardinho in place of Gaúcho. In place of Cafu, just put Cicinho in.
In contrast, the defense players were acting quite well actually, and I have to give them kudoz for that. If it weren't for that, we would have lot by a much larger margin.
All these things have been said since before the WC started by most commentators here in Brazil. Parreira seemed distant to the team and was unable to form union, something that Scolari did quite well with Portugal and with Brazil back in 2002.
