So, you now want an arrogant, diving, cheating, gloating, trying to get people sent off, feigning injury team to win? Actually that doesn't suprise me since you supporting brasil up to now anyway, so what's the difference ;)

I want either italy or germany to win. Don't mind france but some of their players are a bit up themselves and barthez is mildly disturbing :D They'll easily beat portugal though.

That's the issue I have with Portugal winning, the violence and dirtyness so many players demonstrated. But I am thinking about Felipão and Ricardo mostly, the whole ordeal they both went through (Felipão for picking Ricardo over Vítor Bahia, and Ricardo for being himself) deserves recognition, and Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the few players who haven't changed the way they play because it's the World Cup, he always believes in himself. Ronaldinho Gaúcho only ONCE cut by the defender and ran by the sideline towards the goal line/goalie's area (unfortunately stupid Cafú stole the ball from him) and that is just inadmissible for a player of his caliber. He seemed afraid of trying that individual play and losing the ball, pretty much like Ronaldo earlier this year.

I don't know if you've ever seen a post from me regarding that, but I've never supported those things from any team. I am very, very much against any dirty playing and violence in football, even yesterday when I played some guys would complain I'd only go to tackle the ball and not be more physical and take out the guy running with it.

July 9th:
Italy vs France

I am cheering for Italy to win this one and won't bother with a technical analysis or explanation *huge chant from GPG members* :p

As for 3rd place match, I don't really mind who wins so meh. Got both Portuguese and German descent, and unlike my damn French one ;), I don't mind who wins.

5th is Brazil ;). Not that is something to brag about, our worst World Cup in the past decades, second only to 1990 :(

There should be a match for 5th place :p. I read somewhere that Brazil got 5th, but where do we check it? Maybe they are going by the group order

i heard it's decided for the result of the game where you are eliminated, by goal average, and then if two teams went on to penalties, the one who scored most.

so, it should be...

5th Argentina
6th England
(both lost on penalties but Argentina scored 2, England just 1)
7th Brazil (lost by 1 goal)
8th Ukraine (lost by 3 goals)

I don't see any fanboyism here. It is the forum about football so if you don't like it you can just read something else ;-)
