ALRIGHT!! the Melbourne Cup of Australian Motorsport has finally arrivied
The Supercheap Auto 1000 is raced around the streets at the Legendary Mt Panorama circuit located in the South West outskirts of Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. The race has been held at this location since 1963. The circuit has undergone numerouse changes since the first Amrstrong 500. Of course safety barriers and sand traps have been made to improve safety, the most important one was made in 1987 when the addition of Caltex Chase (don't ask me what its is called this year)was implemented to slow cars down over the big jumps that cause a fatal accident in 1986 with a car jumping the fence and into a bridge. and bring the circuit up to world class standards for the round of the FIA World Touring Cars
This circuit has produced many legends in Australian Motor Racing such as the late Peter Brock, Canadaian, Alan Moffat, Larry Perkins, Dick Johnson, Craig Lowndes and Mark Skaife more recently. Peter Brock holds the record number of wins at Mt Panorama with a total of 9 wins, all in Holdens.
Holden have won all races since 1998 when current Ford driver Jason Bright and current Holden driver, Steven Richards. Supercheap Auto Racing's Greg Murphy holds the lap record here with a 2m 06.8594 set in 2003.

My views for the race, i think this year Ryan Briscoe and Jim Richards and James Courtney and Glenn Seton are the dark horses this year with their cars. Ford hopes rest with Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup in their Triple 8 Racing Falcon. But of course ill be cheering on Jack Daniels Racing with Steven Richards and Paul Dumbrell in their Commodore.
