GP3 / GP3 2000 AND VISTA??

Just a simple question, is gp3 and/or gp3 2000 vista compatible?

I bought myself a new pc , only with vista.

My GP3 runs fine

I experienced problems with GP3-2000 only. According to SDI it is a dll related problem which is happening to several programs trying to run under Vista.

yup, gp3 fine here... not tested 2000 yet

ok, so if i have to choose between gp3/gp3 2000..gp3 would be best the best option...?

I've just tried to install gp3 and gp 3 2000. Haven't tried running gp3 though, however gp3-2000 was horrible. It just kept crashing. The compatibility settings for xp, 2000, 98/me made things worse but I haven't tried running the game under administration mode.

Okay.

Today is a major improvement. Do not use the compatibility settings. Do not use any of the settings disabling composite desktop and such. Do not calibrate your graphics as GP3-2000 will just crash.

I used run this as administrator but it's not clear as to how much that improved things. I will say though that I've managed to go in and out of the game. Do a couple of practice laps, a quick race. Seems to be a good improvement over what it was before.

may I ask what graphic card you're using?

I'm using a GeForce 8600m GT. Also, I used the no CD patched exe on gp3-2000. But I don't know if it's necessary. I did it because the normal exe file wouldn't run on XP and the patched exe did.

I'll try to test again but my last quick race wasn't so bad.

Yesterday I got time to play GP 3 2000, I forgot to run a race test, but here's a small update. I downloaded Ralph Hummerich's 2000 hardware edition update for the car liveries and stuff and it is running very well. I take it Vista can play GP 3 2000 pretty well.

Jackschmidt. that's good news, i have a new pc using vista and i'm a bit "scared" to install gp3/gp3 2000 under Vista....no problems using gp3?

I haven't really tried GP3 on Vista though I heard GP3 isn't really problematic. I suppose it's your choice, but I stick with GP 3 2000. I did some quick races too and the game hasn't slowed down yet.

problem is gp32k and gpxpatch doesn't work with vista at the moment
