the answer is yes,but it can be a pain in the *ss ;-(

You will have to adapt all the jams.
Not only the colors of the bitmap but also the height since the max height of a bitmap can't be greater than 256.
I had to do this in my early years of gp3; I still have some older tracks (until 2006) archived.
And there is still one available in this downloadsection. [www.grandprixgames.org]
I made also a little guide for some other users here; i can sent it if you want.
And if you like to have other tracks, just let me know, but there are no recent tracks made.
Maybe a few guys are working on them at this moment.

bye

Dirk

good to hear!

I found some tracks too; i'll test them first, put them in a zip and send them tomorow.
Don't expect the most recent tracks like korea and india, but there is bahrain, shanghai, new spa and all the other classic tracks.

I'll see whats possible.

Oops, read it too late. I've send you 4 tracks to begin with.
They're good examples to learn working with jams and the trackeditor.
See if they work, and i might upload them here if there is enough interest from other drivers.

Dont get me wrong, but i kinda have enough to do with 2013 season, so i will do nothing on these old tracks anymore.

Enjoy them.

Dirk

thats not good; they were all working for me.
I suppose you have put all the jams under gp3jams and used gpxpatch in debug mode and low verbosity?
You could try to rename the jam folders (put an extra letter to it or so) and run the tracks again.
If it runs now, there's a problem with some jams, or else the dat-file isn't working for you.

Hi Dirk

I would also be grateful for any tracks you have converted successfully, particularly older circuits. I tried your tutorial and I got roughly 1 in 3 jams converted per track but some, which were less than 256 in height simply would not convert. I got all the correct folders etc. Obviously only tracks you have already done. I'm sure everyone appreciates your 2013 work.

Cheers

David, I'm sending you the same tracks as for Maurizio.
As I said they should work; use the patch and put all the jams in gp3jams.

I wish you better luck.
