what do you mean with "to clean graficcard"?? -deinstall?

+ set your NVIDIA-graficcard-settings exactly like this:

Anisotropic Filtering: Off
Antialiasing-Setup: driven by App
Antialiasing Gamma Correction: Off
Antialiasing Modus: driven by App
Antialiasing Transparancy: Off
CUDA-GPUs: All
Triplebuffer: Off
"Erweiterungsbeschränkung (german)": Off
Max Numbers of..: 3
Multidisplay/mixed GPU-Acceleration: Single Display
Textures Filtering - Anisotropic Sampleoptimization: Off
Textures Filtering negative LOD-Bias: yes (Not global/ not Clamp)
Textures Filtering-Quality: High Performance
Textures Filtering - Trilinear Optimization: On
Threaded Optimization: Auto
Textures Filtering - Anisotropic Filter-Optim.: Off
Vertical Synch: automatically Off

if that doesn´t help and you have an "onboard grafic-chip" on your computer try this:

1. search for exact onboard Grafic-chip driver
2. deinstall NVidia graficcard
3. shutdown comp
4. open comp and take off NVidia-graficcard
5. start windows
6. install onboard G-chip-driver
7. start gp3.exe
8. do automatic graficcalibration (if GP3 crashes=no problem)
9. open "gconfig.txt" in gamedir and copy/paste values as described
10. start GP3 as you like BUT NO automatic-grafic-calibration anymore
11. setup grafic in game and press "Test"

Well, Tim:

clean = clean pysically (open PC, retire graphic card, clean and put it back) =D

About values on gconfig, everytime that I exit game, original values are restored!

If it's very dusty inside, it's not a bad thing :-)

You didn't check Save Setting on exit ;-)

Get a look at ipswich2007 post, you got quite the same problem. Some tips could be useful for you as well.

Hi guys! Long time without posting at this forum...

Sorry for adding a somewhat unrelated question on this thread, but it seems to be several threads about Win7 problems and I think if you can help me, is good to have the answer on the most popular topic.

I have a new notebook for some months now. It uses an onboard graphics chip (Intel HD Graphics 3000) which is anything but a powerful chip. Anyway, I can play some games like rFactor, GPL and GP4 with good performance.

Besides having the notebook since january, I just tried to install GP3 now. It's a 64bit system, so I didn't expect GP3 to work at all. But the fact is that it partly works. The problem is with the menus. Almost all the times the screen is black or frozen, but when I ALT+TAB the game shows up in a window with wrong colors and very unresponsive behavior. But with a little patience I can browse through the menus and start a session. Then the game goes back to full screen and runs nicely. Good PO with full grpahics and good image quality. Controls also are flawless. If I press ESC the menu problems return with a plus that the ALT+TAB trick won't work anymore. It's all the same with GP3 2000 and it doesn't matter if I use GPxPatch or not. Does anybody ever have a similar problem? I suspect the problem is the lack of DirectX 7 which can't be installed (DX11 is installed).

After a few hours I'm almost used to browse the menus without properly see what's happening but you can imagine how terrible it is.

Thanks in advance.

I tried again. Uninstalled the graphic driver update and installed again and now GP3 works without any problems I could notice. GP32K works too, but if I press ESC during a race, the screen goes black (game is still running, I can hear the music). I have Win7 64bit Home Basic SP1, so maybe the problems other people have are with gfx drivers and not only Win7 fault.

could it be that gp3 try to write something to HD and has no admin-rights, or folders are write-protected?

Not in my case. I have checked that. But I'm happy for now, at least GP3 works and maybe the GP32K problem can still be fixed (I will be really happy if Belini tracks work with good performance, which is still to be tested). Now I can try to convert my GP2 tracks to GP3.

That sounds really great, looking forward to see which circuits appears... (Perhaps you have the Portimao circuit in your archives?)

I too use GP3 1.13 on Win7, 64bit and just copied the whole GP3 folder incl GPxPatch 3.93 from a back-up HD into my new PC. (Can't remember if I did a installatin afterwards though....)

No problems at all and all menus and screens are fine and working... Only configure GPxPatch and GP3 exe to be compatible with Vista SP2 (works for me)...

If you could find a complete GP3 folder I think it could do the trick.

:)

I don't have Portimao, but there's a great GP2 trackmaker working on it, so it will be available at some point. I've made some tracks for GP2, I just have to choose one that looks simple to convert and try with it. I just want to see them with more than 256 colors =)

GP3 is working now, but maybe I should try the folder trick with GP3 2000. I have a folder in the old computer, if I'm not wrong. Just need to able to power up that thing...

Well, Belini tracks work, PO around 110% most of time (Interlagos and Monza tested, PO surely will increase with more demanding tracks). Not what I wanted but what I expected. There's a purple stripe in the tyres when looking from cockpit view, it happens in both games, in any track I choose. Is that normal?

It's a common issue and there are some post in this forum regarding this. One simple solution is just to paint the tyre bitmaps black in all cyan/transparent parts (in Tech folder I think)...

The Portiao project sounds great, I really hope that it will be available for GP3 one fine day, but it seems that we can test it first in GP2... That's fine as well... ;)

..it´s a reason of your graficcard which doesn´t show pink as transparent (you use ati right?)

how to solve:

open your tyres-grafics (hard+software!!) with jameditor and paint the pinkcolor black or give me your email and I send you my pirellis..

I too use GP3 1.13 on my WIN7 machine but I run the entire game from the external HD that I initially installed it to.
All I had to do was reinstall GPxPatch 3.93 on to my Win7 machine and I have no problems at all running the game.
I tried it with GP3-2000 and by having a different GxPatch shortcut for GP3-2000 and one for GP3 1.13, I can run both
versions with no problems.

..also 64-bit, I think. It´s strange...up till now people only reported about problems I couldn´t varify because I´m on XP..

so, positive! ->keep on pushing people!

This sounds good to me. I will give a try on my win7-64 next week : I just notice that I didn't install onboard graphic driver on it but directly the one of the plugged card (was build to use with ubuntu at first purpose)

Do you mean you didn't install from CD but directly from your saved folder ? Sounds interesting.
