Please, is there someone who plays GP3-2000 on Windows 7 and AMD processor (Phenom II X4)?

My game crashes everytime when I exit pit (practice mode). But, on quickrace, it works normally. When I load game without GPxPatch, it works perfectly on all race types.

I couldn't get to recalibrate graphics (the game crashes).

Please, help me!

When I had GP3-2000, regardless of what I did, it always crashed when I calibrated graphics. It's not the end of the world - just do it manually in the graphics section of the options menu :)

i think the problem is the quad core
In Gpxpatch you can assign a single proccessor to do the trick
had the same probleme

Maybe also Anti Aliasing that must be off.

Rod, you should explain us a little bit more what you did and what happened.
Also your config isn't complete : which graphic card do you use, how many RAM, and do you have win7 in 32 or 64 bits ?

And maybe, give us a step by step on how you have installed GP3 and 2000 on it (I beg this is a new computer)
Oh, and also a gpxlog and maybe a screenshot of your gpxpatch.

OK, Eric. Well, my PC: GeForce 9500 GT, AMD Phenom II X4, 4GB RAM and Win7 32 bits.

When I put XP, game works perfectly. Now, with Win 7, I can't get to exit to pit lane; the game crashes when GC art shows. But when I put quickrace, none happened; I can play normally.

I ran with GP32k.exe original, and game works.

Another thing: I can't get to recalibrate graphics. The game crashes and closes.

Step by step of your install please Rod :-)
Did you patch the game ? Do you run it with GPxPatch ? Compatibility mode ? Run as Administrator ? ... ?

That's normal, forget it : I suppose you have a dual screen graphic card. GP3 always ask to calibrate at start with dual screen GC. Just don't do it.

Step by step:
*install game (as normal mode; executing SETUP; no problem with this. Of course, I downloaded the game, because GP32k wasn't sold here)
*install GPxPatch 3.93
*Compatibility: Windows XP SP2
*Run as Administrator? YES
*Graphics mode: 1280 x 1024, 25,6 FPS

More things? =D

hi rod,

it´s just a little thing that comes in my mind: maybe try to unwriteprotect your gpxpatch folder inside gamedir

good luck!

And GPxPatch must also be set in compatibility mode and run As Administrator.

PLUS

You need to set CPU to 0 in GPxPatch.

Some more little things :

- First we assume that you have installed GP3 the same way before (with patch 1.13). RIGHT ? ;-)

*install game (as normal mode; executing SETUP; no problem with this. Of course, I downloaded the game, because GP32k wasn't sold here)
*install GPxPatch 3.93
Between these two lines you need to install no-CD patch (you didn't mention it)

- Regarding the graphic card, there was a > thread here < that gave some hints.
One of them concerns DirectX, saying the game doesn't work with the version Dx10 (some people saying they don't have problem with it)
An other one concerns anti-aliasing (AA/AF) that must be turned off because the game doesn't support it.

- Another hint given by mortal :

Another tried and true method is to get it up and running on an XP rig, then copy it to the W7 rig and test it.

- Another hint given by EricMoinet ;) :
Quote

if you feel confortable with that you can also make a partition with XP 32 bit and dual boot on your PC. Be aware that you will see both partitions on your hard drive as hey are both windows partitions.

(Full thread with these two hints)

- I don't know if this one could help you, but I found this in download section : GP3 2000 install fix.

Herm... That's all for the moment. ;) Hope this could help in any way Rod :-)

click folder with right-mouse and look at "properties" -there you can find attribute
->gpxpatch should not be writeprotected

good luck!
