Prove that we're not in there ;)

GPGSL Rd 2 Pacific GP - Race Day

Part 3

We are back once again.

The gap between De Bruyker and Nell has decreased slightly.

Further back, Warrington is closing on Pedersen.

He gets even closer.

But now he sits in 7th.

According to the replay, Pedersen had run wide, forcing Warrington to slow down slightly and allowing Kittleson to go on by. Kittleson also tries for a move on Pedersen, but is unable to get by.

As the camera focuses in on Elleker, in the distance it looks like one of the SCRs has spun.

It’s Cartwright, and he is in an awkward position.

The replay shows that he got crossed up heading into the corner, resulting in the SCR spinning out.

Gilson, Rodriguez and Jalving were very lucky to avoid running into the stranded SCR.

However, a broken wheel tells us that someone was not so lucky.

The unlucky driver is Moinet.

Cartwright continues on, but will need to make a pitstop to fix his wing.

But for Moinet, the race is over.

Nell is closing in on De Bruyker. Also, the timing shows that Thomas has lost a position.

With the drivers all having made stops for the switch to wets, it seems they are now coming in for their scheduled stops. Kittleson is the first in.

Rodriguez is in as well.

Nell and Greenhalgh are in for their stops.

Nell rejoins in 4th behind Legge.

We have a 3way battle going on in the back end of the top 10.

Greenhalgh has rejoined in 11th.

Maverick is in the midfield once again.

The timing shows that both Van Smirren and Warrington are in for their stops.

Nell and Pedersen resume their battle from earlier.

As they head onto the back straight, we can see a stranded Snake.

It’s Legge, who has pulled off to the side of the track with a Puncture. He was scheduled to come into the pits for his stop, so he’ll be gutted with this for sure.

The timing shows that De Bruyker is in for his stop.

It’s still on between McCarthy and Kederer at the rear of the field.

De Bruyker rejoins the track in front of both Nell and Pedersen, which means he retains the lead.

Pedersen has managed to get in front of Nell.

With the race now heading into the final 10 laps, let’s check out the current standings. We also see a move made by Maverick on Karjalainen.

Another yellow is out.

And this is the cause of it. Jalving has run wide and into the wall.

From Silvestre’s view, Jalving went in all on his own.

De Bruyker heads on through the accident zone as the timing confirms Jalving’s retirement from the race.

Warrington has gained ground on Van Smirren and we may soon have a battle take place between the two.

With Kittleson being 3s behind, Warrington won’t need to worry about what’s behind him for a while.

Pedersen is still in 2nd.

However, he is asked to come in for another stop.

He rejoins in 3rd.

Silvestre and Maverick are also in again.

As we ride with Nell, let’s check out the current standings.

Van Smirren now sits in 5th. Seems Warrington managed to get by him which was missed by the cameras.

We may have a battle taking place soon between Greenhalgh and Elleker.

Elleker gets closer to the back of the MPR.

But he ruins his chance at a possible passing attempt by running wide at the exit of the chicane.

Now he has to worry about what is behind him as Rodriguez has managed to close in on him.

5 laps left to go.

McCarthy is back up into 13th.

It’s been a miserable weekend for Kederer, who will most likely be wanting this race to be over and done with so he can start focusing on the next round.

4 laps left to go, and the gap between De Bruyker and Nell is out to over 5s.

As we go onboard with Warrington, the timing shows the movers and shakers in the top 10.

Van Smirren has closed in massively on Warrington, but that may be a bit too close.

Warrington is now out wide.

And ends up in the wall.

It seems there was contact made between the two in a very similar way to the Copeman/Horvath incident from earlier.

That’s race over for Warrington, who was running in a very strong position for Greidanus GP. He will not be happy with this outcome.

Time for the final break of the coverage. When we return, we’ll be going to the end.

Oh ffs.

Not happy with Rico's action. What a shame for Chris with just 3 laps to go.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
ABSOLUTE piss-take. Boost was working, on for a podium, and SOMEHOW I manage to get a puncture in the rain.

Any more races like this and I'm done. This is pretty ridiculous.

Up for a double retirement? I'll be gone if I'm not within the top 3 after 5 races, which as of now is as likely as me winning the lottery.

Jeez comon! Why can we never convert a good starting position?! Almost all our 'good' finishes are from outside the top 10 starting :/

Hoping I can finish this race, having a fairly good recovery drive after a poor qualifying so far

Why the hell did we stop 3 times, we had this race in the bag

I might finish in the points if everyone keeps crashing.
This is perhaps the quietest race I have ever had in my GPGSL career haha. But it's nice to be still running and (touch wood) staying out of trouble.

Great job by Rico this race! Shame about the accident, especially with a Greidanus car and one of our former drivers but I'm sure we'll take them for a beer after the race.

Tobi... Maybe we will be looking for a replacement driver mid season...
