Hi, Does anybody know whether you can play games across a network between an Xbox 360 and a PC? Or alternatively, is it possible to play online with someone on a PC when you are using an Xbox? Thanks for any help.by Go Alesi - Other Games
"I don't think about money" It's people like that who complain that the govt isn't helping them when they've had their house repossessed because they got a huge mortgage and a load of other loans that they couldn't afford. Why are so many people in the world soooo stupid?by Go Alesi - Off-Topic
I'm not running this track-pack because I'm away from home, but I've had the oversteering problem with some tracks in the 2007 track-pack that was released, in particular at Instanbul. I found out that the problem was the track grip levels in the magic data. If you look in TSM, you can see that some tracks (eg Instanbul) have much lower track grip than the others. Yeah, but the 100euro note made no difference - they could all have just agreed to wipe off their debts to each other - since that is effectively what they did. Everybody is in exactly the same situation as they were before, because although they all owed 100euro, they were also owed 100euro by someone else in the chain.by Go Alesi - Off-Topic

Ok, thanks for that. How do you tell the platform. The choice appears to be between the E7400 (2.8Ghz, 3MB 1066Mhz), or the Q8300 (2.33 Ghz, 4MB 1333 Mhz). Is the Q8300 going to be significantly faster for the purposes that I outlined above? Bearing in mind from the gaming front, the graphics card is likely to be a 256Mb ATI Radeon HD 3650, am I right in thinkg that that is going to curtail aby Go Alesi - Off-Topic
I'm doing some research for my parents, and basically I want to know whether a dual core with faster processors is better than a quad-core with slower processors if you're not going to be doing anything that uses more than two processors. The PC will only be used for general office work/website running/and some gaming, but not games that can use a quad core (if any do) - mainly gameby Go Alesi - Off-Topic
Ok, I see. Well I suppose that works and is as close as you can get.by Go Alesi - Off-Topic
Well that doesn't really seem to work either. Because that would mean the virtual driver would have to go unrealistically quick to catch up/slow to get back. So, for example, you could have Force India cars being the fastest cars on the circuit for 5 or 10 laps or whatever, to catch up after being held up at the start. Or front running cars going really slowly to get back to their real positby Go Alesi - Off-Topic
Glad that they've issued this threat - maybe the FIA will start to listen. How can they be so stupid as not to spot the most blindingly obvious problems of an optional budget cap?by Go Alesi - F1
I signed up too so as to find out about it. But I still can't see how it's ever going to work. It's fine, until the player disrupts one of the cars in game, and then surely the link between the game and the real car has to be broken. So if you get to the front of the grid and hold everyone up at the first corner, then for the rest of the race, the cars will be in a different positiby Go Alesi - Off-Topic
Well, at the risk of going off topic: - It has nothing to do with criminal sentencing. Judges treat them leniently because there's no room in prison, and the shift is towards community punishment. - Yes, it is always banded about by minority groups. But just because they go on the news claiming they can use it, it doesn't mean they actually can in the end. And any human rights proby Go Alesi - Off-Topic
I'm naturally a euro-sceptic, but the Treaty does need putting in place for exactly the reason Red Sam said - the current rules were designed for before the Eastern expansion, and now it needs changing. Unfortunately, that gets lost on most of the population, and for that reason I'm happy there's been no vote on it here. Another problem we have in England is that a lot of peopby Go Alesi - Off-Topic

Umm, no such thing as that Dave! It's the Sale of Goods Act, which requires goods to be of satisfactory quality and reasonably fit for purpose. Querey whether it is of satisfactory quality when it breaks after 13months. Worth a try, but if they say no, there's not much you can really do about it., especially bearing in mind that it's not something that gives you rights against Micrby Go Alesi - Other Games
Hi I've got an odd problem I've never had before. I'm using Viper's 2001 cars wad and it all works fine. But I've just got a new monitor so I wanted to change the resolution from 1024*768 to 1440*900. When I did this (I cahnged it directly in the graphics file) the Williams cars went white. All others were fine. I changed it back, and they were still white. So thenby Go Alesi - Grand Prix 4

Thanks for that. I didn't know what DVI was, so I looked it up on the scan website. But I can't work out what would be compatible with my PC. It's quite old - ie a little over 6 years old, with a GF4 gfx card. As far as I know, there's only a VGA slot at the back (I'm not at home to look atm). So am I right in thinking that I will be ok with a DVI-I connection? Whatby Go Alesi - Off-Topic
Hi, Our 19" CRT monitor has just broken. To my suprise, I've realised that you can't buy CRT monitors anymore, only flatscreen! But I have no idea what to look for. So what things do you need to look out for? I know resolution, but also is the response rate important, and if, so what is a good figure? Also not sure on refresh rates - can you get more than 60Hz on a flatscreeby Go Alesi - Off-Topic

wtf! FOTA told the FIA what they thought should happen. If the teams had all supported it, then they would have suggested it. Just trying to shift the blame. Complete disgrace.by Go Alesi - F1

Have seen it before - very funny. There's a lot of Harry Enfield stuff on youtube that is pure quality. The Northerner sketches as well as the Nelson Mandela adverts are worth a watch.by Go Alesi - Off-Topic
Do they think Race Driver 2 or 3 were aimed at the arcade audience too? Presumably not, seeing as they called them the 'Ultimate Racing Simulator'. Do they think CM4 and 3 were aimed at the arcade audience? Because I wouldn't exactly call any of those games simulations. CM is now incapable of producing anything that is remotely realistic. Got this on rental from Blockbuster this week. The handling is terrible. Like Dave said, the cars just go at ridiculous speeds, with impossibly good brakes. You slide round hairpins at about 75mph in the touring cars. The AI don't try to pass you, they just ram you. Having said that, I find it fun, and I'm traditionally into rFactor/Richard Burns Rally/GPL etc. The graphicsby Go Alesi - Other Games
Well, I switched it PAL 60 and it worked. For anyone in dobut on this in the future, when you switch, you get an option to change back, so as long as your screen doesn't go completely black (in which case, I think just pressing the red button returns it to the old settings) you'll be fine.by Go Alesi - Off-Topic
I'm in the UK too. I read an article on Wikipedia, but didn't udnerstand. It's the fact that it says PAL 60 in brackets which was making me wonder.by Go Alesi - Off-Topic
Well, the reason I don't want to try it is if I then can't read the screen, I have no way of changing it back! I don't have access to another TV. But if there's a revert thingy, then that will be ok.by Go Alesi - Off-Topic
Does anyone know how to work out the refresh rate of a TV? I have a several year old portable. On the back, it says the power supply is 230V 50Hz. Am I right in thinking that that does not relate to the refresh rate? Becasue in the manual, it says it has NTSC Playback (PAL 60Hz). Does that mean my TV will work if I set my Xbox to run in PAL 60 mode? Currently I'm using PAL 50, but I cby Go Alesi - Off-Topic
