Schumacher surely has to be thinking he can do this. IMO Mercedes is now the best car, he proved in Monaco he CAN do it.. It's all there. However, I think (hope) we will see a Lewis v's Schumacher battle race long. With Michael to come out on top of course! I doubted Schumacher, I doubted Mercedes but I hope both prove me wrong in Canada. After 2009 I did not believe they wouby chet - F1
Starting like to like Natalie too, but Lee still has it over her, 10 fold. Lee seems like a real person, not a media drone. Will be interesting how she fares with Jake at the Euro's and Olympics.by chet - F1
You have to say, the most shocking thing about 2012 so far is that amongst the 6 winners, Lewis has not been one of them!by chet - F1
The sky coverage seems very corporate, whereas the BBC more relaxed now. Sky will get there, but first they need to jack in Simon, and give Georgie a better role for race weekends. She is great on the F1 show. And, this is painful to say but I'd like to remember my hero Damon as the Schumacher slayer I once did, not as the pr*ck who doesn't seem to know anything about anything.by chet - F1
If Alonso keeps delivering the amount of awesome he has so far then he will be champ. Even if Mclaren, RBR, Lotus have better cars. The guy has simply stepped up another level this year IMO and it really has put the pressure on Vettel and Lewis to perform to even match him. There is a long, long way to go and if I had to make a bold prediction, not only based on my fanboy-ism I would say Niby chet - F1
What an awful waste of time for me, and the drivers and the teams. They do all sorts of prep work for tyre longevity etc, setup work... But what relevance does it have when the driver's are driving at 80% of their's and the car's potential. Vettel's strategy was entirely compromised because Webber and co were not at full speed. It was clever by Webber but IMO it couby chet - F1
wow @ Dario. Expected more from him than that. IMO a horrible move on Sato, Sato had the run, he was inside but Dario certainly did not leave enough room. He's a great guy, great racer and I hope when he re-watches it he realizes he was at fault. Poor move.. but the guy is desperate to catch Power. Lost some respect for him there. He left a car's width yeah, but not a mm more. I dby chet - Other Motorsports
Did button and massa swap seats? Didn't see qualifying, but the result for jb is terrible...Schumacher pole? Amazing lol. Hoping for a grisjean race, or webber...by chet - F1
Jean Alesi... So awesome, he can race the Monaco GP and the Indy 500 in the same weekend. What's the betting he'll turn up for the Coca-Cola 600 too?by chet - F1
That 1990 lap was certainly a lot of work, but I think today, the lack of... 3rd pedal and shifter has slightly been compensated by much quicker cars and times, smaller braking zones and arguably more room for mistake. Or that was probably worded not so great, not so much more chance of error, but more chance of losing a lot more time than it was back then. If you make a mistake today IMO it costby chet - F1
Watching that onboard, ive never seen a Monaco lap where it looked clean or even a brilliant lap. Maybe Trulli's in 2004 comes closest? I guess it is the nature of the track, car setup and how you need to drive it, but all laps look pretty messy. The other lap I think that looked pretty nice and clean IIRC was Ralf in 2003...by chet - F1
Ladbrookes have Webber at 20/1, Nico at 25/1 and Schumacher at 50/1 We suspect the Mercedes will be quick here, so I was going to put £2 on each. IMO of the current grid, Webber is about as close as you can get to a Monaco specialist. He and Kimi seem to be consistently awesome here. Certainly more so than Lewis. I just believe the driving style Lewis has makes him appear so on edge at this plby chet - F1
As you know, I dont know alot about the sport, but wasnt the same said about Schumacher? Yet F1 thrived without him. There are plenty talented riders who will come through. Motogp don't need to worry about losing a rider, they need to worry that the sport is not that competitive...by chet - Other Motorsports
This season has been amazing so far, one reason I believe is because of driver spread across top teams... On that basis I've got a suggestion to maintain such excitement. What always annoyed me about Schumacher and Ferrari was that it was the perfect combination. I always wanted to see Schumacher try fight for it at another team maybe, to give us the answer of whether it was him, the car,by chet - F1
Firstly Button, Webber and Grosjean consistently 20, 30, 40 seconds behind their team mates? Button beat Lewis last year, and the two podiums Button has this year are better than the podiums Lewis has got. Webber almost beat his team mate to the title in 2010, lost the plot in 2011 possibly due to car development, but he is certainly back to a better level this year. Grosjean, well we'veby chet - F1
I guess its like they all say... These drivers have been winner's in everything upto F1... For the most part, they are most comfortable leading from the front because that's what they've done most of their careers. Jenson and Nico good examples of that. Leading a GP is the natural place for these drivers.by chet - F1
I think Lotus are just really weary of what happened in China! Kimi went from a strong result to be being passed by 6/7 cars in 5/6 corners. The strategy at Barcelona was probably too conservative, a lap or two earlier and he could have won. But I think what Lotus expected was the Ferrari and Williams to slow each other up with on track battling. Or at least they expected both car's to fby chet - F1
I thought such trophies were banned??!! They are hardly trophies! Why haven't the drivers said anything? If you're Vettel you must be pretty pissed off, he's won so many races in the last 3 seasons that he will have so many similar looking trophies! They wont be special in a few years because he won't know which is which! Anyone who has watched the F1 legend stuff on Sky willby chet - F1
Not good! Wonder what the exact cause was?? I guess the garage would have been as busy as it ever has so worst time for it to happen! Hope everyone is ok! Surely put's a damper on what has been an amazing day for the team! Looking on the bright side, the car showed genuine pace and during the last stint Pastor looked in COMPLETE control of Alonso (how many times will ever say that?!). Itby chet - F1
When I wake up tomorrow and see a Williams on pole, I will for the 100th time rub my eyes in disbelief but mostly joy. Lewis at the back, Button was slow... WHO CARES! A WILLIAMS IS ON POLE :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!by chet - F1
Quite open minded about this stuff. Im certainly one of them who thinks any answer to a previously unanswered question is good enough until a proven (by fact or mathematics) answer is the case. It's like right now, isn't the easiest explanation of the existence of the universe simply God? I believe it work's mathematically (though don't ask how you represent God :p). Right. After 4 races we have Mercedes moaning about tyres, Schumacher being quite vocal. Last year it became obvious, along with slight changes in construction and an F1 team's amazing ability to adapt and learn that the tyres last year became pretty easy to manage for most drivers. MW made the point of asking Pirelli to make it more of a challenge, so now they have that and here we haveby chet - F1
I am not an IT guy, at least it's not my background. BUT Some of you guys are pretty much experts. Basically, I am looking to do a presentation on 'performance testing' ... software performance testing. I probably could have wrote that post with a little more reasoning. At the time I thought it was his tyres that went off, which was my reasoning for him still not being all that great. But I agree with you, his style is what makes him quick on anything that moves I guess. Continuing to be disappointed with Vale. At what point will he be fed up and just want to call it a day? Racing has been different so far this year. I've enjoyed it, but the length and relative lack of cautions has sometimes made it seem like a snoozefest. Still, I've found it enjoyable. Getting nationwide on TV is awesome too! I wish future cup cars would look as good as they do!by chet - Other Motorsports

Nice post and video!! Looked amazing fun, and clearly you have a knack for it ! Whenever i've been karting with mates and its rained we've been offered a full refund on the basis that it's too dangerous . Also, a shout out to the quality of the video capture, that's pretty amazing!by chet - Off-Topic
Nico not given penalty? What a joke. As marcl says, why havent Lewis and Alonso been given penalties then? Bad racing by Nico, that wasn't defending, maybe he has learnt more of Schumacher than we thoughtby chet - F1
