RIP Dan.
I am done watching this series. I am sick of watching crashes like this occurring because of stupid drivers who have no respect for each others safety, and incompetent officials who run races on tracks which are meant for NASCAR. And their solution is to put fenders on their pathetic new spec racer. The management of this series has been absolute crap since it was formed and it has

F1 !@#$% Bernie & co killing another good track. I can't believe the FIA let them do this, they've given away all their power to the commercial interests.

Same difference. The idea that you can get penalized for engine changes at a race is bad enough, the idea that you can be penalized for doing too many changes AT YOUR

F1 I liked it better when the rev limit was whatever you thought your engine could stand. And if it did blow up, you didn't get some absurd penalty for changing it.

F1 There are big differences between racing incidents, downright boneheaded driving, and intentionally causing crashes. The first is going to happen, and I don't buy the current F1 thought that every incident has to be penalized. The second is always going to happen occasionally, but it shouldn't be allowed to go unpunished. The third can never, ever be allowed. NASCAR doesn't seem to

F1 Great race. Treluyer was superb, and thumbs up to Audi for building another very strong car.

Other Motorsports I can't believe the DeltaWing people are still around. They must be very good at PR, because they've still yet to prove that their concept is even feasable. Good to see that they've not actually been awarded an entry yet. I suspect that when it comes to actually investing the money to design and build a car, folks will come to their senses, just like IndyCar did.

Other Motorsports Yep, all the good action has been down to the tires. Okay, so a few guys have blasted past each other on the straights with the DRS. But so what? Passing a car that suffers a massive aero disadvantage shouldn't be celebrated as "good racing." Hell, even NASCAR doesn't have a gimmick as bad as this.

F1 Well done to Red Bull for saving this great track. Like Imola, this place just has that "soul" about it. No matter how much Tilke tries, he can never come anywhere close to nature when it comes to creating great settings for racing. Its a shame the FIA allows Bernie to control the calender and charge tracks whatever he wants to host a race.

That means like last year's GT2, right? Am I the only person that still thinks that category should be called GT3? Okay, I suppose they didn't want to have GT2 and GT3 without having a GT1, but then they ended up with a GT2 categ

Agree, Schumi just doesn't have it right now. I'm not sure if the pace has actually left him or his style just doesn't suit the new rules, after all he was never easy on tire

F1 They've been going downhill since Newey left. He was brilliant obviously, but Patrick did a good job keeping him in check. They still haven't been able to replace Newey on the aero side, and maybe they won't, but under Michael the mechanical side seems like it has really slipped as well.

F1 Pakistan doesn't have much right to be pissed. They've either been harboring the world's most wanted man or they're totally unobservant and incompetant, or more likely, some of both. Letting them know could have compromised the whole thing.

Off-Topic That Audi is really starting to grow on me. Most of their open prototypes looked nice, but you can't beat a good coupe for looks. I hope the Pugs will give them a race though.

Other Motorsports Manual gearboxes really separated the drivers. F3 is probably the only open-wheel category with any sort of manual gearbox anymore. I don't mind F1 having semi-autos (actually, I would love if they totally opened it up to CVTs or whatever else the teams could dream up), but the idea that you could get to F1 without ever learning to shift gears yourself is crazy.

F1 From looking at the layout, it would take some serious work to build a runoff area there, including relocating a lot of grandstands. And unfortunately Interlagos is not exactly known for spending a lot of money on track improvements.
There also isn't good visibility on the inside there, and no room to expand on the inside due to the hill and the other corner (bico do pato). Probably one

Other Motorsports I can't really tell what happened there. Did he get hit by another car? IIRC that's been the cause of some of the other accidents at that corner. I've never considered it much of a corner, but with no runoff it is obviously a danger if a car does go off there.

Other Games Thanks Dave. No doubt it would be silly to DQ Lewis for accident damage.
I had always heard Schumi's plank was worn somewhere in the middle and that both ends were legal, which wouldn't be possible under normal running. But I have a hard time finding sources that aren't totally biased. No doubt that Benetton pulled lots of sketchy stuff that year, but the FIA were not doing a g

F1 Anyone knows what is the deal with Hamilton's plank? Sure looked damaged to me, was it allowed as damage caused by an accident? I suppose that would be the right ruling, but it sure wasn't applied to M. Schumacher in 1994.....

F1 Interesting bit about RBR chet. They've definately got one of the most agressive composites departments out there. I can't help but wonder if this is the cause of a lot of the failures we've seen from them, but most teams seem to have been very conservative. There's a place for this (airliners, or the safety cell of the cars which is why the FIA set the design for that), but m

F1 The t-cams are different colours for both drivers in a team; lowest number is red/orange, highest is yellow. So that's an indication.
Not a good one though, without a consistent numbering scheme. The team leader doesn't necessarily have the lower number. Even the commentators have to look at a cheat sheet.

F1 Apple does some things really well, like user interface design. I literally saw a kid in diapers using an ipad the other day.
But they've never managed to make serious computers. They got some fashionable industrial design which allowed them to sell their stuff to the masses and not just to school computer labs, but they're still toys.
I can't see paying almost what I would
