I am sure you do have your own ideas also. Good luck, happy testing.

Grand Prix 4 Did you try stacking two more rotor blades. Another thing I tried was removing the blur from the leading edge.

Grand Prix 4 I did a lot of testing to get my rotor blades working. I got close few times using Photoshop and After Effects but nothing as clean as what you show. I expanded your flags to 1024 X 1536 and applied blades to that canvas, redid the mapping and wa’la. In end, my manually created blades worked best in-game and I have full intention of revisiting it after thinking about the complete process.

Grand Prix 4 The last few weeks, I have spent all my spare time rebuilding my textures and cleaning them with the intention to bring them to a similar quality as I see in some of the on board shots that are around.
Chrische set a high standard with his textures, building all his own textures for his buildings which are quite impressive the textures and the buildings.
It won’t be long now till completion an

Grand Prix 4 QuoteTruecrysis When I'm using texture browser with the gp4 file, the textures are the ones that were in the wad. Is there anyway of redirecting the texture browser to look for the tga files in a completely new folder, or even adding about 100 textures in one go?
The idea of loading all tgas in the gp4 folder (and in this case they would be unassigned to the gp4 parts) goes back to the abo

Yes, I figured you forgot that I wasn’t using 3ds Max. Your flags will be replaced when everything else is finished. I intend to look carefully at your suggested methods. Sorry about the poor quality video. It’s done with SnagIt. I just wanted to get the idea across. There are 18 frames as mentioned earlier and they are mapped on 4 X 36 sided Prisms with a Z rotation the 36 sided Prisms

Grand Prix 4 Thanks for the suggestions. There are only 18 frames at the moment; however, it is working in-game and that’s quite fun.
It was done using Photoshop+GP4Builder+Slimtex I agree with you, it needs about 100 frames. Of course, your flags are history

Grand Prix 4 Hello ramf1,
I need a little help to get the blades rotating correctly. Can you guess at the time and frames I should use? I have tried 10 blades and 2 blades and after 6 attempts I thought I would just ask. I have it set up for in-game testing with a 3d and a flat blade. The texture is on the blades in-game. No animation as yet. Also what name should I use, I'm unsure about the rule

Grand Prix 4 Lo2k: Thank you for the response. I'm quite familiar with what the pitlane and track look like ingame as I have used it for over 10 years. It's the part at the top of the screen that I'm concerned about. In-game the in the dry the part is light brown. I've tried adjusting the Heights with the .dat and also the .gp4 part, to no avail. It looks like it's coming from the tr

TV cams: I would appreciate that. I have them basically where they should be; however, they do need some editing and in-game testing

Grand Prix 4 The Builder can open any texture that is the same folder as the .gp4 file that you are working on. This is the way it’s designed. Alternatively, you can export and import a gp4 file and the textures will be added on import. The new (.tga) must be in same file folder as the .gp4 file that you are working on, or add them one at a time as needed. It is not necessary to rename the original texture

Grand Prix 4 @ramf1v
Today I did some in game testing of the track that I'm working on and your flags are included. They look fabulous and I want to thank you for thinking of it and allowing us to use them.
A very nice addition indeed. There is no noticeable difference to the processor occupancy also; in fact, it was only at 13%.
Thanks again

Grand Prix 4 @ ZaZ,
I had this trouble also some months back. I wasn’t overly concerned at the time because I had already tested what I needed and planned to revisit this later.
Thank you for the explanation and your continued efforts

Grand Prix 4 Alright then. I'll give it a go. Thanks again for sharing the knowledge. I do have Photoshop CS5 and was intending to follow your advice with the 30-day trial for After Effects. I will also be checking out the Actions tool. It just happens that GP4 helicopter with the camera is in a project I'm working on. The Builder is the only 3D tool that I use at the moment

Grand Prix 4 Hello ramf1
Thank you for your work with the animated flags
The tutorial is good. I can hardly wait to try and build some animated helicopter blades.
I'm also very interested in animated crowds and scrolling advertisements.
I have been thinking for months now how to do this in the builder. The idea of using a clipping distance for a second advertisement in front of the original is

Grand Prix 4 My original thought is it's probably not from the Builder. Try from a clean Grand Prix 4 install. If you still have no luck and do you care to send me a link to what you are trying to load, I will have a look at it and try to help you find the problem.

Grand Prix 4 @Atticus
It could be a few different things causing the problem. You didn't say exactly when it crashed. Try replacing the animation .WAD with one you saved from original install. If you are using CSM, you can go to Zaz Tools and Patchdownloader and re-install the patch. You may not get the error message immediately from Zaz Tools to tell you to do this.
It could also be the CC Line;
