If it starts it should work, are you sure you've opened a carset? (file->open) otherwise the tabs are disabled, because there isn't that much to edit I still have to remove the rough edges of the editor but i hope to finish it real soonby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
You should also replace the files that are located in your 'cars' directory with the ones in your wad file. 1.02 uses some files from that directory instead of the wad fileby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
Ok it has been a while, but here's an little update. I fixed a lot of the bugs, and add some new features. I hope to release it this week. Most important updates are: Errorhandling improved by 800% Steeringwheel positions Dash positions Helmet positions 'Open wad' Cars.wad fully compatible with 1.02 (remember the files in the gp4\cars folder?) Compatible with .car files and .cam fby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
date sent: Friday, June 06, 2003 12:04 PM but hey.. i'll try it again. And yes, the replace any file feature works for any file with the gp4 folder as its base. And switches everything back after you used it.by ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
@b-tone I'm starting to think you've never recieved my email. Next release should be soon I know that soon isn't really specific, so to set a target.. How about next week?by ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
The 'carset builder' is still the carset builder from the first version and also has many bugs. I'm going to fix that in the future, but there are (from my opinion) more important things to work on first. I would like to support all the features of the editors so far and thats on top of the todo list. So my advice is to build the carset.set yourself using notepad. It isn't thaby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
I'll take a look at it. I have an idea what it could be.by ZaZ - Grand Prix 4

If you are sure that the files are in the carset.set file, then you'll have to check if the files are really there e.g If the "c:\program files\gp4\gpsaves\carsets\f12003\carset.set" file says Performance=perf.txt Then you'll have to make sure that "c:\program files\gp4\gpsaves\carsets\f12003\perf.txt" exists The same goes for the physics file. And the cars are woby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
Ok first make sure you have really the latest version. To do that, right click the .exe and select properties and then the tab version. If it says 0.9 you have the correct version. (Some sites took it of this forum even though i said it still wasn't released, and they gave it wrong version numbers, so that's why you'll have to check to make sure). I forgot to activate the create buby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
I wrote a simple wad tool, so you can right click on a wad file and extract it to a directory. And you can also right click on a directory and compress the whole directory to a wad file. It still needs a lot of work, but ii don't know if i'm going to do that, because for 'more advanced' stuff there are some other great tools available. I wrote it for own use, but thought thby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4

I hate to spam about my app... but when you put it in CSM you can try it out, without screwing up your gp4.. Don't get me wrong... the main perpose of CMS was to have different carsets without which lets your gp4 stay 100% intact. So you could try it out (the program AND the carset), and if you are having any kind of troubles let me know, i'm happy to help.by ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
I will take a look at all requests. The points system is included and the lotto number thing is working excellent also I will (almost) do whatever it takes, so that people don't have to include an .exe file in a carset, because there are different versions (like I mentioned before). Its a good drive to do it all myself. I've just put the megapatch 2003 into carset manager without insby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
Hi sam... helmets per season is already in since the first version. And rim/arm colours are working also in the latest 'released' version. (look at the carset manager thread) helmet/steering wheel positions still have to be included. I think it'll be in the next version. note to ronald..... should press f5 before posting a reply Post Edited (05-29-03 11:02)by ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
Yup I also got the track loading pictures working, and the 'add any file' to a carset seems to be working too. (so i got Gpaedia per season working also) Post Edited (05-29-03 08:00)by ZaZ - Grand Prix 4

About the error messages... I'm going to fix that in the future, but that's the most boring part to build, and not most important (for now). If you are having errors and you don't have a clue what is wrong, just send the carset manager.log file and i will take a look at it. It doesn't support loading pictures yet, but i will add that in the next version. And about the unwaddedby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
I'm adding a function that you include ANY file you want in a carset. So even the .exe can be in a carset, but thats not the best way imho. Lots of different people use different .exe files some use a decrypted file, some use 9.6 etc.. With 3 versions of gp4 (remember the 4.0 patch) and encrypted and decrypted .exe files, there are already 6 combinations possible! Enough to know that some pby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
@b-tone If you don't you don't want to use a cars.wad, then don't use it All the options are optional, so you don't have to select everything when you are creating a carset. And the order of the folders is controlled by your settings of windows. I'll let you control that yourself in future versions. @Max Downforce Yeah i've been thinking about that too, it shoby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
The first version is released. Carset Manager. Just rename to zip and extract it, there's more info in the readme file (thanks to Tigershark) Hope you'll enjoy it There's a newer version coming soon which contains the stuff i have disabled so far.by ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
I'm releasing the full version tonight/tomorrow. I will post a link in my thread hereby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
I've noticed the loss of performance too while editing gp4. That was the main reason why i've built my proggy. No more re-installs of gp4 for me.. Now my gp4 stays 100% intact, and i can play with all the graphics i want. BUT a 'slow' carset with large graphics will always stay slow, can't change that (yet). And about 3Dmark... well said! I know people who buy a new graphby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
Yup, there's some progress..... I've been working on it, and got some ideas from a few people. The new 'major' features that are working since my last post here are.. Performance per track Rim colors per carset Arm colors per carset Camera positions per carset And some minor changes also.. but i won't bother you with that. Next to be included is anim.wad per tby ZaZ - Grand Prix 4
