@marcl: It was good ol' GP2, in fact - i believe it was a brand new game back then! I also seem to remember, for those who watched F1 on ITV, that in 1997 they did the track guide on a racing game of some description, complete with tacky rev counter and speedo! I think it may have been F1 '97by senninho - F1
here's my $0.02. Both games are amazing, although i had to recently remove GP4 a)because i was rapidly running out of space, but b)i chose it over F1c simply because of the poor performance on my machine, although obviously not everyone will have this reason. GP4 is probably the best looking F1 game there has ever been. It simply can only be described this way. However, the comments aboutby senninho - Grand Prix 4
@Glyn: Totally agree there @ks: a brand new one will cost about £1,300UKP, but i got a G3 333mhz from Ebay for £160! It's not actually that bad either - will run OSX more than happily on the spec - see my sig. Of course, add a PCI graphics card, and it'll do pretty much everything a new one willby senninho - Off-Topic
well i'm capable of an objective view, owning both! Macs are generally renowned as being better than pcs for this, as they can display more true-to-life colour - hence the fact that 99% of newpapers and magazines are made with a combination of Photoshop and Quark - i also did Media production at college :P Methinks jginete hit the nail on the head - a mac with AGP graphics is God among desby senninho - Off-Topic
@Glyn, Thanks muchly for fixing what i did wrong, and thanks for the compliment. The theme is Windows Longhorn (the XP replacement, due 2006!), pics of the real thing can be found at ...and running on Windowblinds. The Mac is running no themes, on OS X 10.3by senninho - Off-Topic
Well i'll try my pics again, and if they fail to show, perhaps someone could point out the blindingly obvious mistake i've probably made <img src="; /> My Mac <img src="; /> My PCby senninho - Off-Topic
That's right - it was already doing over 60mph before the F1 car even got started!by senninho - F1
@Vader: there used to be a show in the UK called 'You Bet', with the same format. They did a challenge in '94, with an F1 car against an F1 powerboat. The powerboat won by loads, although in F1's defence, the car was a Pacific, with presumably one of their pay drivers!by senninho - F1
@dUmAsS: I wonder what OS you're trying to make your pc into Here's my two: /edit... How exacltly do you make an image display here? i used http://www.url.com/pic.jpg" /] and it just shows the text! Before anyone points it out, yes i was using proper ">" for the tags! :P Post Edited (10-21-03 20:02)by senninho - Off-Topic
@Guimengo, Don't really do much graphics, but you're right, they are great for that because they use their memory much more effectively. They would be good for games for the same reason, but people don't bother writing many games for them! I got it through being sick of Windows, and the fact that Linux doesn't recognize my modem! However, OS 10 is Unix based, and imho the bby senninho - F1
"That bastard that stole David Bowie's beats and still to this day doesn't recognize that" Ahem, i think you'll find that was David Bowie AND QUEEN :P Seriously, i don't post much, but i do read the board every day and was shocked to see that many posts from one person! In answer to the commentator question, the 1993 review is voiced by Jonathan Ross, who i wouldn't have picked as an F1 commentator, yet somehow he pulls it off! I currently own 1993-6 videos, and will soon be getting 1997.by senninho - F1
it's good, but we don't get given squeaky phone toys and action figures to chew on ...although free coffee more than makes up for it!by senninho - Off-Topic
lmfao! How did you manage to sneak a camera into my place of work!?!?! :D Seriously, if it's a semi-technically competant person you're fine, but if it's someone who tells you 'i know nothing about computers', you start thinking 'well why did you phone?' It's like having a car in many ways - if you get a car, you make sure you know how to drive before goby senninho - Off-Topic
oops... i think we'll put that down to working in Tech support for an ISP makes me extra gullible :P seriously though, it's good to know people do actually see viable alternatives to Internet Expunger :Dby senninho - Off-Topic
@dUmAsS: dude, that's Mozilla trying to display a binary file as a webpage - i have the same problem with mine, although i thought it was just normal Mozilla as opposed to Firebird that did it. Still, if you right-click and save link target, it'll work.by senninho - Off-Topic
Was just wondering if there is a shape available for the above? I have used the search but cannot find anything about it...by senninho - Grand Prix 3
Yup, it's actually one of the many bugs that were originally shipped with WinXP - as far as i understand, it causes Windows to not remember what you shut it down, and therefore thinks someone must have pulled the plug instead! There is indeed a fix for it on the Microsoft Download page, and it's included also in Service Pack 1by senninho - Off-Topic
Kimi, you'll probably find that your BIOS battery is dying - it saves all the BIOs settings, (ie what drives are installed) and when it starts to run out, it starts to forget! It's a little button cell battery on the motherboard, can be got for about £3by senninho - Off-Topic
Heh, didn't go to V this year, but i was in Chelmsford on the 13th doing my driving test :P ...and i passed :Dby senninho - Off-Topic

Martin+any kind of live= hilarious. The guy has some seriously quick wit! I don't think i've ever been bored listening to himby senninho - F1
Marcl, i agree with you about stopping the races, and yes i saw the same pictures - they were printed in Autosport a few years back. It does look very much in the 2nd picture like the bit of debris has been run over by Senna's car. However, i'm gonna stop now because a) i think there have been plenty of post about Senna's accident b) knowing how he crashed will not bring him back,by senninho - F1
you should get the GTR2002 mod, it's amazing. The Turbo mod is hellishly difficult, and the 1995 mod would be better if i could figure out how to get a championship workingby senninho - Off-Topic
18% Eek! but to be fair, i do work doing tech support for an internet company! :Pby senninho - Off-Topic
well at least this is now up - alphaf1 is still down. They're probably being 'hacked' by 'the f1 man who can'... i've never seen anyone be flamed that much.by senninho - Grand Prix 4
Zcott has the right name for it, it is definately twin keel - if i'm right, it was first used by Sauber, and a lot of the teams have indeed 'taken inspiration' *cough*copied*cough* from itby senninho - F1
Ok, only just read this thread! @stevewaller - any chance of sending me the .wad? i've got dsl. if so, thanks, and the address is GP4@gkmotorsport.co.ukby senninho - Grand Prix 4
They're actually pushrods, which are designed (i think) to do most of the suspension work. You're right, they used to be the other way up - Pullrods! I believe the Arrows from 2001 or 2002 had them. I think pushrods are used more cos they can take more force. As for Sergio, if i remember rightly he pioneered the use of 2 'fins' under the nose, one for each lower wishbone. Apby senninho - F1
