Of course he should go. The mere fact that all his defences are couched in his professional legalese demonstrates how ego-driven and out of touch he is. Can you imagine him walking down the pit lane at the next GP? He will be greeted by a chorus of sniggers behind the hands of drivers and mechanics alike. His authority is shot whatever the legal position. He should not drag the FIA representative

F1 When you go into the Graphics options, is your card listed - ie has the program found it? And if so what framerate does it say you will get with all options on?
If you are running with Graphics set to Auto it's worth switching to Manual. You may find even if the framerate shown is no higher, when you run the game it's far better...

Grand Prix 3 Try changing the verbosity of GpxPatch. That can affect whether errors crash the game. Also, if you have a new dual-core processor, try using CPU 0 or 1.
You're not installing GP3-2k on top of GP3 are you? They are totally separate and should be installed in different folders...

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
Running a GP3-2k non-champ or champ season race, according to the GP3 manual, when you start Friday practise you have '3 tyre sets marked O', q1 q2 q3 for quali, r1 r2 r3 for race and one qr.
However I can only see one set marked 'O'. Where are the others? If there aren't any, how can you test/set-up the car on only 1 set?

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
I am wondering about upgrading my graphics card, but have heard horror stories about GP3 not running with some of the newer ones. Can anyone suggest a sub-£100 card which runs okay and has really improved their GP3 performance?
Or is GP3 performance all down to processor speed?
Thanks,
Tim

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
I have just run a race with LagunaSeca_2000 without any problems. I have not touched the md. The cc-line looks fine to me and there were no CC car offs. Do you have Mark's GP3-2k version if you are running GP3-2k ?

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
A good way to manage changing the cc-line is to run a race with the original track, then save the game just as the cars get to the corner you want to change.
Then load your changed version of the track into the right slot (in GPxPatch), run GP3 and load your saved game. You can then re-start it at the corner you have changed. This will mean that if there are problems with the cc-line fu

Grand Prix 3 As it happens I have solved this problem myself. You need a couple of 0xe8 commands accessing jip 841 to set up a grid.
Is there a repository for little tweaks like this to help other track editors? I have Roberto's excellent track editor tutorial, but there are so many detail wrinkles like this one to learn - eg the different track commands make different use of their args - that maybe

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
I've noticed on several old tracks that the starting grid lines do not appear on the tarmac surface. If I understand from Track editor the relevant command is 0xe8 232, on track section 0, with args 0,1,0,842,-128,0,0,4,64,0.
However I have checked the tracks in question as well as some which are okay, and all have this command with the above args, so I cant see where the problem i

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
This sounds like a good patch, but I want to be able to use my own physics files, and it seems to override them. Any chance of a version which does all the other stuff but leaves the physics alone?
Cheers,
Tim
ps: Can I still change the player grip with the Belini grip patcher, without using the above patch?

Grand Prix 3 Do people get any performance gain from a dual core processor?
I recently upgraded from an Athlon 3000+ to a dual core 4200+. (Not much of an upgrade I know, but it was cheap, and the best available for my existing socket 939 motherboard).
I have to run Gpxpatch using CPU 0 or 1 now, and I cannot say the game looks any faster since the upgrade...

Grand Prix 3 I have found using the 3d sound option in GPxpatch slows things down a lot, especially if you have old soundcard drivers. It may be worth updating them. I've also had probs with my Athlon 64 4200+, I think because it is dual-core. Gpxpatch allows you to select CPU 0 which seems to run okay, but may be slower?...

Grand Prix 3 Does anyone else run the qrfps utility? It allows you to greatly increase the GP3-2k frame rate, to 28, 32, 36, 42 etc.
However at frame rates over 30 I have been experiencing lots of CC car crashes, they bump into eachother and cause spins or pile-ups, especially at tight circuits like Monaco. Put the rate to below 30 though and it's ok again.
Any idea of a way round this? The game do

GP3 Misc. Graphics Hi,
I have recently released 70's/80's track menu art. The download .zip files are in Winzip 9.0 format. Problems opening the files have been reported, ie using Winzip 11. Does anyone know of a compatibility problem with Winzip 9.0 files and later versions?
Thanks,

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
Sorry to hear you cannot access my files. I have just downloaded the 70s/80s file and it opens with Winzip 9.0 with no problem. Winrar wont work as its not a rar file, but Winzip should. I dont know if version 11 is incompatible with a version 9 file - it doesnt seem likely.
No-one else has reported problems.
If you give me your email address maybe I could send the .jpg files as atta

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
I have now released a second selection of menu track maps and loading screens for 70's and 80's tracks, in the Misc graphics section. You can now have matching menu art for all tracks and seasons from 1977 to 1989.
If people are interested I may produce early 90's art in the same format...
Best wishes,

Development work of the teams would need to be co-ordinated, with someone centrally having 'ownership' of the source code, making sure separate changes to the same bits are compatible and combining them. Grand Prix 3 Hi,
I'm currently working on a second set of 70's/80's track menu screens. I have not found GP3 tracks for:
Silverstone 74 - 86 with just the Woodcote chicane,
Monaco 76 - 85 with simple tunnel exit chicane,
Montreal 78 - 86 with old pits position, diff 1st corner.
Does anyone know if these tracks are available for GP3, and if so where? If not I won't bother doing m
