I've found a couple corrupted objects and reimported/deleted them. Track is reuploaded, those who had crashes please download it again and report if the problem persists.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4

Round 5 is on, we race at Shanghai in our first deviation from the F1 calendar. There are a few rule tweaks effective from this round, as explained in the e-mail sent to everyone. Please pay attention to them.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Hello all, The streak of previously unreleased tracks continues, this time it's the 2017 version of Shanghai in its current Beta state. The Chinese Grand Prix was supposed to return to the Formula One calendar this April, but current circumstances meant its slot went to Imola instead. Head over to the F1virtual website to download. Enjoy and expect another nearly-finished track tby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Imola results! It's the same roster as ever on the podium, JCaranti makes it four in a row and newcomer deokastyler just misses on a very impressive debut by having his fastest lap invalidated on the last corner. Meanwhile, we have some insanely close gaps all across the field and many positions were ultimately decided by details (and track limits!) EDIT: JCaranti's sectorby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
It's race week! Round 4 at Imola is now underway! Also, an e-mail has been sent for choosing the Round 5 venue. Since nearly all available circuits were mentioned, the voting form includes them all.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Congratulations for the release guys, glad to be of helpby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Quotesuperman77mFor the Spanish GP, are you going to do the league with the Montmeló track with the current new layout? With the modification of curve 10? Not from me, maybe from someone elseby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Hey guys, let's talk about round 5. We'll not build the new Miami: real track isn't finished yet, so we only have project drawings and renders, which is not enough for us. Melbourne was already built from incomplete data and we have even less for Miami. So, no new track. Let's then choose another circuit. Only two restrictions: 1) it has to be a track released by F1virtual,by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Melbourne results are in! JCaranti makes the most of the new layout and wins by a whooping 1.6 seconds, making three wins in a row. fongu and gildoorf complete the podium as usual. Mere tenths separate most of the midfield, while Carl_gpgames snatches the final points-scoring position after Hinyaldee falls victim to the track limits rule.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Quoteklausfeldmann- As written in the descition text by TomMK, the top speed is quite highly influenced. Just to get a feeling for it, I had the following top speeds at these air temperatures (°C): 0°: 327 km/h 35°: 341 km/h 80°: 355 km/h The rationale for this is that hot air is less dense than cold air - so there is less air resistance/drag in hotter temperatures. Okay, I have news to report. Desc49 is used only at the start of a race. Remember this bit from the code: if (currentCar.var_0CE.bit7) { cx = ax - var_62D208; // var_62D208 = magic data desc49 } else { cx = ax - var_603BA2; } Or, in original assembly: .text:0042FF9D F6 86 CE 00 00 00 80 test byte ptr , 80h .text:0042FFA4 74 09 jz short loc_42FFAF .text:0042FFA6by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Hello ksezen, and welcome! QuoteksezenHow can i save hotlap with performance data, would you please explain. Laps are saved with performance data by default. There is an ingame option "save without performance data", that's the one that shouldn't be used. Edit: no, it wasn't me in IGP3. I only had GP3 for a short period before I upgraded to GP4.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
QuoteklausfeldmannIs it at least secure that var_0CB.bit0 is used anywhere later in the source code, if var_0CB.bit0 is true? Yes, there is a function that checks it once for currentCar. This function's output is the same if either var_0CB.bit0 is false, or if there is no opponent car. That's all I've figured out so far.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
QuotezifoxWhere does the snippet of code your posted come from ? Is it decompiled code from the executable that you are reworking to have meaningful names ? (and commentaries ?) Actually I use a disassembler which converts the .exe instructions like shown below (it's the same section I posted yesterday). Then I search for sections of interest and translate them into "regular" codby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Thinking a bit more about the current desc49 explanation, and the piece of code it's used, I'm trying to make some sense of it. At first it doesn't make much sense to compare distance (ax and cx variables) with speed (dx variable), but actually this can be used to estimate the gap between two cars. For example, if both cars are running at 100 m/s and they are 100 m apart, it meaby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
A quick search through GP4 code and I can't find any references to desc 38-41 and 43-44, so I believe "unused" is correct as it was in the earlier pages of this thread. In truth the values are read and stored once, but only during the general "load magic data" routine and then never again. Desc49 is used once in the code and only in certain conditions but I can'tby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
I've reuploaded the 2022 version to fix a few flickering objects on the approach to turn 11 (former turn 13) which were very distracting and also repositioned brake markers on the same place. Didn't have time to test it ingame though, please keep the previous version in case any unexpected issue appears.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4

Hello all, It's race week and is there a better time to release a new/old track? Or both at once? First is the nearly-finished, previously unreleased 2017 Melbourne. Second is the same track... but with the 2022 layout! This is an early effort to make the new layout available for the Time Trial League, and some things are very provisional considering we haven't seen the real trby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Jeddah results! JCaranti wins once more with an impressive third sector, but it's the smallest gap for a win so far as gildoorf takes purple sector 1. We also got an increase in participation from the previous round and a very competitive midfield.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Quotesuperman77mHi all. Someone can help me? I can´t use the Qatar track with my MOD CSM because make error and with this message: I don´t know what´s the problem. Thanks you for some help! Sakhir results are in! JCaranti once again snatches the win, with two purple sectors. Purple S2 was also his, but in a slower lap. Carl_gpgames failed to submit a valid lap, his fastest one violating track limits at turn 3 apex. Next round will be at Jeddah: a preliminary version is available here, while a graphical update will be made available mid-week. Laps done in the preliminaryby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
So here's Jeddah in time for the GP, enjoy I got updated satellite imagery exactly three weeks ago and started working on it immediately. Sadly there's not much official data for elevations so I had to rely on my eye for much of the track. I think the result is good though, at this moment there's nothing in particular that looks blatantly inaccurate to me. A slightly updated veby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Round 1 officially begins tomorrow, but the (WIP) version of Sakhir we'll be using can already be downloaded from this link. Please load on Slot 1.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
QuoteHinyaldeeI need to up my game ! Two things seemed very unusual to me about your laps, first is that you drive without F7 Traction Control with a non-analog control scheme, which seems very difficult to control; second is that you use more rear wing than front wing, which induces understeer. Maybe try playing around with these?by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
