Hi all, When selecting a lower difficulty than ace, obviously the ai get slower.....but do they get less aggressive? Thanksby RHill - Grand Prix 4
Turbo Lover Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Set the amount of laps in the DAT file to 50% and > adjust the magic data. Nice one, thank you! That worked! 29 laps is now my 100% race distance and the ai follow the pit strategy. Thanks again!by RHill - Grand Prix 4
This one is driving me crazy! It looks like I have got the editing and install correct because I can get the ai to follow the schedule I want during a 100% race distance. HOWEVER.....when I run a 50% distance, the values in Magic Data require doubling to get the desired lap. And worse still, some ai still don't pit at all during 50% race distance!! I checked and those cars that don&by RHill - Grand Prix 4
I've just read this....... ''You have magic datas stored into S1TCXX.dat files of your track (or .dat files if you use CSM). Then you need a program called C-Magic4 to extract magic files, edit them and then pack in the .dat again.'' I think the S1TCxx.dat files are in the circuits folder, this is what I have been inserting into I think. But it sounds like .dat filby RHill - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Tom.....How do I do that? I opened cmagic, browsed to the magic data file location and track file in the circuits folder (stc01 for example). I then hit insert, but still I get some cars not pitting. I might be inserting it wrong in c magic? Has the 50% race distance got anything to do with it?by RHill - Grand Prix 4
I have managed to open the magic data files from.... C:\Program Files (x86)\Infogrames\Grand Prix 4\Gpsaves\Carsets\2014 Mod v2.0 by GP4 Central\Extras\2014 Magic Data edit the pitstop schedule and then save back to the same location..........but still some ai don't pit for the whole race!? Well at least thats what the tv graphics in game say. I could really use some advice here, thby RHill - Grand Prix 4
But the files I have, have a specific file extension name and I'm not sure I can open them in notepad?by RHill - Grand Prix 4
Hi, I'm using the 2014 mod by Tom and have come across an issue in the 50% races. Some AI aren't pitting during the race. I loaded the magic data file in TSM, from carsets/GP4Central/extras/magic Data/Melbourne for example and noticed the pit schedule is 100% of cars to pit on lap 24, but with a 11 lap 'window'. This would explain why some ai don't pit, because 35 lby RHill - Grand Prix 4

I'm doing Melbourne 50% race distance I did notice some similar errors at the final chicane at Nurburgring also. I'm not sure if this is a track problem, mistake rate problem or what? I would really appreciate your help on this one Tom....I'm so close to being able to enjoy your mod, but there seems like too many ai incidents for it to be normal. For your information, turby RHill - Grand Prix 4
Well it seems odd that there would be three options in the csm menu Disabled Player only All cars I'm having an issue with the ai going for some moves up the inside which are a bit mis calculated and taking both cars out. How do I adjust the mistake rate or is this a track issue?by RHill - Grand Prix 4
Hi all, I am using Tom's 2014 mod, and noticed several AI battles ending in a crash in the heavy braking zones. It was causing a lot of the front runners to retire or fall way back in the field. I watched a few laps and it appears the AI were locking up quite badly and loosing control. After disabling the slipstream effect the issue was corrected and the passes into the braking zonesby RHill - Grand Prix 4
It's the best AI experience out there, is what they say. It's why I got into GP4 in the first place. What I want to check is, if the AI is purely default or if there are some ai mods that are 'must haves'?by RHill - Grand Prix 4
Yes! it worked! Thank you very much indeed. I know this is a lot to ask, but it would be a great help to me if you could provide the same thing for the some other teams? I'm looking for Force India, Mercedes, Ferrari, Toro Rosso Basically Briere's mods, ideally with Tom's external sounds? I know it's asking for a lot, but it's solved my problem and I wouby RHill - Grand Prix 4
It's the Williams sounds (from the sound download section on this site) I want to use, by Briere. If someone could make a file I would be grateful to give that a try.by RHill - Grand Prix 4
Tom this one is driving me crazy! I have changed the files in the sound_bnk and the engine txt files. The path looks to be correct c:/infogrames/gp4/GPSAVES/Carsets/Your mod/Sound etc I played the newly uploaded sounds and they are there. Checked custom sounds were on. When in game it seems to be default sounds I am hearing. Is it possible the wav positions are different in your mod? Iby RHill - Grand Prix 4
This one is baffling. I have checked the path and it's correct, and I'm loading into the mod I think. I'm just confused by the gpsaves/carsets/2014 csm Tom path. How do I know if I'm accessing the mod one or the one in my gp4 installation? Or are they the same! I just want to check I am accessing the mod sound folder not my install.by RHill - Grand Prix 4

Yes I have found the sounds folder, but when I edit the sound-bnk file using sampleeditor, the changes don't appear to work in the game.by RHill - Grand Prix 4

So I have a few questions about this same mod, so I will write them here. The first is the one above about modding the sounds. The second is about the performance files. Does performance change from race to race or is it just one generic performance file? Where are the others if there are multiple? Can I use different performance files I have downloaded, or will this make the ai performaby RHill - Grand Prix 4
This mod is fantastic first of all! But I have a question about the sounds. How do I change a cars sounds to one of those downloaded from this very site. I opened the mods files by double clicking it in the CSM menu I found the folders data/sounds and saw Engine data and game_snd.bnk I opened game_snd.bnk in sample editor and right clicked number 101 and loaded 101 from the toro rossoby RHill - Grand Prix 4

Thank you Tom for the help. I will give modding your csm mods a try!by RHill - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the answer flying, it's a big help. What about performance files, are they located in the same place - can they be edited also.by RHill - Grand Prix 4

So I think I have an issue where GP4 tweaker and Team editor are conflicting. I also have read that only one set of wheel positions is possible in team editor for all teams. I know multiple positions are possible in GP4 tweaker, but can I make changes in the program and then not run the game through GP4 tweaker. Basically I want to 'apply' the settings and run the game as normal throby RHill - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the answers guys. Is there a way to trace where my wheel positions and cam positions are being taken from? I have wheels out of position in team editor, but they look perfect in game! I want to know where I should edit cam positions, but team editor has no effect. The values must be being read from elsewhere, how do I trace? many thanksby RHill - Grand Prix 4
Hi, I'm trying to edit wheel positions (because they appear in the wrong place currently). How do I go about this and save the changes?by RHill - Grand Prix 4
