Please use the new GPxPatch 4.51 to apply bug fixes.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
I found the bug. It causes GP3-2000 to crash, and GP3 not to have any car failures... There was also another bug, where autosaving doesn't work when the player leads the race. There will be a fix soon.by SDI - Grand Prix 3
Ok, thanks for reporting this. I'm investigating it and will release a fix for it when I find the bug.by SDI - Grand Prix 3
I'll add an issue for putting more magic data values in a performance file.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
The bug is that it incorrectly identifies the leader if it's the player.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
@PaZa8523: the default value is really 0. @TGF1Driver2: that's indeed a bug! Thanks for reporting it, I will fix it asap.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
I've already pasted an example. Just copy/paste it at the end of the file. The rest of the performance file hasn't changed.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Sure, you can set the value of desc51 and desc52 to 0 in the magic data. But these are needed to finetune the braking range for each track.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
The default value of each driver is 0 for both minimum and maximum. That means only the value from the magic data is used. Even if you specify a non-zero value the magic data values will be applied. As I explained earlier, the formula looks something like: braking_range_value = grip + magic_data_value + performance_file_value.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
1) He will brake late consistently. 2) Value 0 will have no effect (i.e. default behaviour). The value is added, so 0 will effectively do nothing. 3) The default is 0. 4) The driver might be a bit faster because he brakes later, but might also be slower because he overshoots corners or takes a wide line through them. 5) No, these values only affect CC's. The player won't notice anytby SDI - Grand Prix 4
Hehe, this thread is even named after itby SDI - Grand Prix 4
It's not picking up the values. Are you sure you've put them in the right performance file and you're using GPxPatch 4.50?by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Above or under Enable, both are fine. But I don't think it will help you, since the default values are already 1. Can you try again with log file verbosity set to High? Otherwise the relevant lines don't show up.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Yes, in gpxset.ini. The section and Enable value should already be there. I didn't intend it this way. I've fixed it for future versions, so CarSpecificPerformance doesn't need to be 1 for this to work. But I also saw that the default of CarSpecificPerformance is 1, so perhaps you've explicitly set it to 0 before?by SDI - Grand Prix 4
@RHill: like I said, just begin at 10000 or 20000 and check the result. Then check -10000 or -20000 and see the difference. It's trial and error, but there's nothing I can do about that. QuotePaZa8523 PaZa8523 If I leave 0 value, Gp4 don't recognize joypad anymore. Ok, this doesn't make sense to me.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Ok, you need to have car specific performance enabled: Enable=1 CarSpecificPerformance=1 PatchBrakingRange=1 PatchBrakingRange should be 1 too, but this is the default.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
No, it should work for GP3 too, though I admit I didn't test it in GP3.by SDI - Grand Prix 3
QuotePaZa8523 If i don't edit others drivers parameters, will they remain with our default values? Yes. The values are added to the existing ones that are derived from the grip and magic data. So if you leave the values at 0, they will have no effect.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
It's interesting nobody has ever asked for a quicksave feature I try to put every single feature in the documentation, but I can imagine it's hard to keep track of all the possibilities that are being added. I added Belini's player master grip in 4.40. I'll think about adding the track specific performance files to the GUI, but I don't think it has highest priorityby SDI - Grand Prix 4
@PaZa8523 E.g. range -10000 to 10000 for the first driver only: Team #00=-10000,0 Team #01=0,0 Team #02=0,0 Team #03=0,0 Team #04=0,0 Team #05=0,0 Team #06=0,0 Team #07=0,0 Team #08=0,0 Team #09=0,0 Team #10=0,0 Team #00=10000,0 Team #01=0,0 Team #02=0,0 Team #03=0,0 Team #04=0,0 Team #05=0,0 Team #06=0,0 Team #07=0,0 Team #08=0,0 Team #09=0,0 Team #10=0,0by SDI - Grand Prix 4
@RHill: I don't know exactly, you'll have to try. For example, set both values to 15000 for 1 driver and he'll probably overshoot a few corners every time. Then try 10000, etc. It's not hard science unfortunately. You can easily try different values now without having to edit the magic data all the time.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
@RHill: I've tried to explain it in the documentation: The braking range is normally read from the magic data, so it's track specific but affects all cars. The values in the magic data are better known as desc51 and desc52, or CC aggressiveness. I noticed that desc51 works like a minimum value and desc52 as a maximum value, and that the cars will brake for a corner somewhere in thisby SDI - Grand Prix 4
I think it's a waste of space to draw one simple gap time like thatby SDI - Grand Prix 4
Thanks guys, I'm glad it works. I had to work hard to get it finished on time for Christmasby SDI - Grand Prix 4
