Alright, I forgot to build .bin files, amateur error. Now I got something, I REALLY cannot solve alone: when I want to have a slight banking (under the old oval), the track responds nicely to my input in Track Profiler, but the onboard cams can't seem to follow the car down. I get a top view for that few secs while the dip lasts in the track. Any idea?by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Hi guys! I'm a beginner in track editing, but I've learnt the basics from the 60 mins tutorial and the F1 Virtual step-by-step guides. I managed to get together a Monza 1971 beta (kind of like Pedro's betas of the Österreichring and Interlagos from the '70s). It's nice, the layout is precise, made based on Google Maps, only a few meter short of the real track length baby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Thank you for the info. 1981 or 1982... it does make a difference. AFAIK the first edition of Ost Curve chicane was installed for 1982, so I very much welcome that it will be the 1981 version.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
I don't have much time for GP4 lately, and will have even less from January as I start working besides university. When I do have a few hours, I usually like to practice of do short races, and I have generally no skills in track making - which I've heard is a bit time-consuming process. I'd just like to know if anyone is interested in making a Monza & Hockenheim track withouby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Funny. -.- :D I'm looking for the track, not a car.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Nah, of course it won't. When I started this topic a few months ago, I was just frustrated how 'arcade-y' and unrealistic F1 2011 was. Secondly, it's better to know that with open pleas through the biggest GPx community, we have done everything possible, besides throwing the money to buy the rights, to reach out to Geoff. Third, we have amazing community as I said, anby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Hi guys! I wonder if this or this version of Silverstone (which might be the same) is released, or if anyone has it? If so, could someone send me a PM with a download link to it? I have searched on the web extensively, but no success whatsoever. I thought it might be included in the 1988 Trackpack, but the pack itsself is only some 9 MB big, I don't think it has it. Looks impressive. I play a lot of GPL these days (instead of preparing for my exams...) and Zandvoort 1967 has quite a unique characther to it. Fast, sweeping turns - even with the 1967 downforce level which converges to zero with the absence of aero - like Silverstone 1967 but much closer to each other and with elevations. Add them up and you need to have constant concentration on else you arby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Guys I just came across this comment on the Autosport forums from a nick called 'NinjaMouse'. QuoteHiya and Cheers Saddly for you, I am but a crayon, 3d Graphics Modeling......made a fair few of the track sceneries...my job was "everything outside the armco barrier" and I got to do Monaco, Canada, Spain and about 10 other tracks, slept on floor of the office on and on fby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Wow I thought this topic was dead because the replies came slowly at first glance. loque Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Firstly, kudos on your English. Hi guys! I'm from Hungary and I'm a long time F1 fan. I'm 21 and I was only 7 when I saw Villeneuve and Hill battle it out for the lead in the 1996 Australian Grand Prix. I watched every race since then. I know Grandprixgames.org for long as I have played with GP2, GP3 and GP4 as well but I only followed the GP4 topic here up until now. I know everything about the closure of Microprose and stuff. I have read the latest interview so I know about the rough story of the series. I know there are a whole lot of problems starting with the licenses... I'm a long time F1 and Grand Prix series fan. (1996 and about 1999 respectively.) I know this topic is just might going to be closed for whatever reason. But... Myby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

Okay this is starting to get really annoying. :@ One last idea was to replace the .tex files with another version. This time around I downloaded Pitcrew 2008 by Fongu from GP4 Database and did the necessary renames (in fact just one: engin_fi.tex to engin_forceindia.tex and the pitcrews similarly). After that I downloaded a one-off Brawn pitcrew and tried it with this set. Aaaaand. You guesby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Another round of trial and error. I replaced my anim.wad with the original one though it did not seem to be corrupted but you'll never know. (I have a clean install of GP4 too just in case and the original anim.wad has been modified on 2002.06.02) Also I tried to run the pitcrews on Hi resolution. And after Monza loaded and I chose 'Leave the Pits' little Felipe had to lby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the reply. Yep I have also taken care of the texture resolution too. I have stuff in Hi and Std folders and I'm using Std. Another interesting thing. I have disabled auto restore in CSM and have taken a look at the GP4 folder. It says my anim.wad have been updated as I clicked 'Start' in CSM - but it is still 8 319 KB big. I think this is the exact size of the origby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Uhh oh guys I have a situation. It's about the pitcrews. Needless to say it won't work. I tell you what I've done so far. First of all I've read the readme.txt of the excellent 2009 Empty Mod. It reads: " ANIM ===================================================================== Put the pitcrew files into Data\Anim\Hi\Melbourne with filenames: engin_TEAMNAME.teby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
pokemon16 please be just a little bit more polite if I may ask! As for the pit crews as far as I know there isn't any in the making. Try to compile one from the 2008 ones and Brawn could be out there somewhere. Or ask someone to PM it to you. I'm going to change to Windows 7 ASAP. But I will want to use the localized (I'm Hungarian) final version which is only due in October I think. It is believed to use less memory than Vista.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
