Basically, you need a scale like the one on Google Maps. (That's why it is that popular as a solution.) Other than that, I think if you have info on the track width, but not on the scale, you can still trial & error your way to an optimal scale. You will reach it when the actual track width is exactly the same as the GP4 Builder track width at that point of the track. I am a beginnby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
I do plan to create a Macau beta in the future, though it is the most uncertain of my projects. And it will not be a GP3 conversion either. Also, I plan to use the Monaco slot for it. I think the most difficult thing to do in a Macau .dat will be the elevations. So if you can show me as precise as possible elevation levels, I'd appreciate it.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
This track is going to be fantastic. I especially like the Graham Hill Bend-esque Turn 2 and the blind Turn 10 besides the more commonly anticipated signature turn of the Turn 1 hairpin and the Istanbul-stylee multi-apex Turn 16-18.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
I regularly play the '76 layout, I'm a big fan of high-speed corners. Whether or not it is accurate, it is good to drive. How did you built the layout? Google Maps pics of the ring are blurred and part of the track is gone forever, so I assume you did something else. It certainly feels alright though, I like it very much.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Thanks, the feedbacks motivate me. Once again, I call for some better trackmaker than me to create a proper 3D for this one as well. I hope both this .dat and the Brands .dats are good foundations for a final version.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

@celinho I personally think the main - though minor - problems with the CC-line are as follows: - The most obvious is that the original game's Ace level is simply not quick enough: today I did a 1:06.5 while the AI's best is in the region of a 1.07.4. - They tend to ease off the accelerator at the apex of Paddock. They should not. - They tend to outbreak themselves into Druids.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Thank you mate, good job. What a near miss before Pilgrim's Drop. :Dby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Thanks guys. In fact the angle of the grid used to be even higher, but I was black flagged that way too, so I decided to lower the value. One thing I did not noted is that the base of the track is Google Maps of course, and you can see that its length actually falls some 106m short of the real thing. It is not noticeable though, I think, comparing the lap with real world videos. Edit:by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
As the title says, all my works and collaborations will be released here in this topic, in this post. Currently all of them are tracks - some beta versions, with as realistic .dats as possible and basic .gp4s, and some full-fledged circuits, albeit with only minor modifications to the original .gp4 files. They should be a good base for anyone, who is willing to improve these tracks for his or herby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Well, trying out basically all competitors, EA's F1 series, the Codies, rFactor I think the only one which not only comes close but actually beats GP4 is GPL. It has the most accurate physics engine I ever saw. The hardest of all. But I like GP4 better. I honestly think Geoff is the best out there, that's why I want a GP5. Like the O'Sullivan of simulators. I just want thby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
It has a unique feature which will always make it unrealistic and it is that it's banking is increasing. I don't know if 'superelevated' is the right word to describe it or not. But I've heard is is banked to a ferocious almost 80 degree at the very top. AFAIK we cannot make increasing banking possible in GP4 Builder. Of course one can always calculate the bankingby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

Can anybody tell me how to change the smoothness of the asphalt at certain tracks? - In fact I did a track which is known to be quite bumpy, and I know I could randomize heights to have a 'bumpy' effect. But, I also did one which I want to me smoother, yet it is bumpy as well, and I don't know how can I reduce bumpiness. There was nothing I did different which relatesby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Thank you very much Laurent for all the remarks. I appreciate them. I asked about the deletion of magic data, because I had the common issue of having a custom track with a shorter bumptable than the one it is replacing, and it only loads with GpXPatch. I know it's strange, but I like to run the game without it. I thought that if I can remove the magic data allowing GP4 to use its defaultby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Thank you guys .by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Can anybody tell me how do I delete/remove magic data from a .dat file? I can certainly insert one with CMagic, but how do I delete it, so that in GP4 Builder it says 'This file contains no magic data.' Thanks in advance. * Another, track making related question: how do I get real elevations for a track? I can make assumptions for a track like Paul Ricard, but I currently makeby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Okay, here's my newest question: Track created, turns out it crashes while loading in because of CC-line (it loads in without it). I traced the problem back to the initial sector. I did just the S/F straight and the first corner to see what's going on. Turned out that my car didn't go where the CC-line pointed. It did follow it in some twisted way, but it was like the initialby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Okay, thank you. I'm glad my problem turned out to be of help to the program and the community.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Hmm, strange. It works for me as well this way, but not by the other method, i. e. replacing the necessary files in the extracted suzuka2001 folder and recreating the .wad via WadUpdater - which I tend to use in general. And all this after a clean install. Anyway, it works now, so thanks both of you for your help and advices. I really appreciate it.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Hmm, maybe I should have been more specific. It crashes while it loads in. The .dat file altogether has no problems, if I run it with the original .wad, it's completely fine. I did the pit lane and the CC-line, everything works fine... until I convert .dat to .wad. I deleted the other scenes, although I tried once to keep them to see if they are the original scenes which gets corruptedby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
No way that nobody could & would help me.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
I have yet another question. I made a .dat (in fact modified an original, but was not the source of the problem in earlier and similar cases), then created .wad via 'Track from .dat' option. When I try it ingame, it crashes while it loads. The problem is with the conversion from .dat to .wad, because I tested the .dat alone with the original .wad and everything was fine. Thank you very much Laurent, it was indeed as simple as creating a .col file.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
