i can see different parts of the original holmes stories intertwined in these 3 episodes alot, red headed league, empty house, bruce partington submarine, musgrave ritual, to nmae but a few. really is very well put together.by rapid_f1 - Off-Topic
just reading about mclarens third pedal, "Meanwhile Derek Warwick has told great title prospect Coulthard to: "Get nasty if you want to become World champion." of course ms move was way ottby rapid_f1 - F1
anyone seen this on the bbc? Im a huge fan of sherlock holmes and love the way theyve adapted it for 21st century, new mysteries but with the holmes method.by rapid_f1 - Off-Topic
is there a case for showing the fuel weights like they did in past seasons? will be interesting to see how much short fueling they do. i remember pre season there was a lot of discussion saying ferrari had a very thirsty engine which means they have to laod more fuel than competitiors at start (making them slower at the start and quicker at the end) also as ppl have said i think spa will beby rapid_f1 - F1
ms says he is sorry if Rubens Barrichello felt he had been put in danger by his blocking manoeuvre at the Hungarian Grand Prix.by rapid_f1 - F1
am i right in saying they have 2 weeks shutdown now and then the 2 weeks after that they can continue working before spa? also I did about 1 term of materials engineering at uni and the things that you can alanlyse from simply melting a material and analysing all the properties etc and how by looking at a graph, a professor would say if this line was slightly extended here, the material in reaby rapid_f1 - F1
true. brawn reckons its the the design of the tyres is why ms has struggled. next year everyone should be on the same level so lets see how he goes. im going for alonso as the winner of the title! he has this one ace up his sleeve, massa! i.e. he wont have to worry about battling his team mate, the others do.by rapid_f1 - F1
FIA to increase load tests for wings in spa. I thought i heard on the rdio they were doing something clever with the carbon fibre, i.e. its constrcuted i such a way so as to not bend much at a certain load and bend a huge amount after a certain load. very clever stuff.by rapid_f1 - F1
also the field now is far stronger than back when he was racing too. but he seems to make some progress and then backwards. first race in bahrain p5 after 3 years was very good. since then seems to have gone backwards. apparently he has had alot of input into the new car. i suppose it shows after al he will do ANYTHING to gain an advantage. good that he got penalised today. as you i dont reby rapid_f1 - F1
certainly a penalty was needed for ms, i didnt doubt him coming back but i do now. if he has a bad few races at the start of 2011 i can really see him being re-placed halfway thu the season which would be the ultimate shame for a 7 time world champ. why o why did he come back? to risk further dent to his rep? surely he must have known that unless brawn built a miracle car, he was never gonna bby rapid_f1 - F1
i never seen the mark webber/massa one in the top vid bloody hell that was close! looking at it again that def deserved a penalty too.by rapid_f1 - F1
a cars width was left otherwise rubens wudnt have got thru it. but ms shud have a 5 grid dop.by rapid_f1 - F1
bbc bip tsg? sorted now.by rapid_f1 - F1
i can see lewis out dragging alonso to 1st corner with their speedby rapid_f1 - F1
thats good news. martin i suppose wanted them banned for todays race by the sounds of it. and now we have a 2 oe 3 week break where no work can be done so they will have to play serious catchup. ferrari on friday were testing new things for future races in anticipation of the break.by rapid_f1 - F1
i wonder if ms gamble was a wet setup?by rapid_f1 - F1
i hink they said on radio that it was the way the carbon fibre was constructed that allowed at speed the endplates to come down. will try and find the bit of commentary. whatever its bloody clever and legal. fia could argue its against the spirit of the regs though. remember 2007 ferrari and mcl flexi floor: Explaining what happened with the Ferrari floor, which Hill suggested had been &by rapid_f1 - F1
what someone else said on another forum sums up nicely F1 Designers will ALWAYS find new ways of improving their cars sometimes going beyond or around regulations , the key thing here is for the authorities to be very clear on their next action , either to declare them illegal for the next race onwards - well done , very clever but not acceptable in the spirit of the rules but not the actual lby rapid_f1 - F1

good pic from another forum. The reference plane is the top of plank which is 10mm thick. No bodywork should ever pass below the height of the reference plane. also remember the mclaren briidge wing that used to close up at speed and then open up again at corners.by rapid_f1 - F1
marcl Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ^So maybe then Mclaren should put all their effort > behind Lewis now then going by your review 14 > point lead etc. i agree marcl. also I would love to see horners face when mark and seb are battling and he gets a call from dietrich… “mark you need to save fuel” I bet will be the radio call if mark wasby rapid_f1 - F1
perhaps ppl realise why alonso gets preference over massa now, massa is nowhere as good as alonso consistentlyby rapid_f1 - F1
hk in the press conf fcuk sake grow some balls, just give abn opinion and when questioned about letting lewis thru in 08 he doesnt remember...he shud do that was about all he ever did in a mclaren other than fluke a win good on robert and rubens for giving their differeing opinions.by rapid_f1 - F1
if u had weights at the ends of the front wing, at high speed would those ends not droop more than the middle?by rapid_f1 - F1
thats what i thought but heres the vid; however on 2nd thoughts i wonder if that 132kg is referring to something else. it does seem very high for a one leg of a human.by rapid_f1 - F1
according to brembo, you need 132kg of force on the pedal to slow the car down for the 1st corner. Anyone whos been to the gym knows how bloody heavey 132kg is. Maybe us mere mortals couldnt even press the brake pedal hard enough let alone say we would this and tht.by rapid_f1 - F1
thats an awful lot of trust surely for something that is not gonna be as obvious as track testing. also this seems an awful long time ago now doesnt it. i think i said success for ms this year would be 1 win, finishing 5 th in title and beating rosberg. I dont think he is gonna do any of those.by rapid_f1 - F1
how on earth do teams police the 3 week break (ban) on development work? How can mclaren tell if ferrari have got their supercomputer turned off? or is their a fia person in each factory.by rapid_f1 - F1
