Hi... A few other people have had some weird things with Pit Crews disappearing... I was wondering if anyone is any wiser about what causes it...? I installed the 2008 Trackpack Silverstone, which is fantastic. And everything was working fine, including Pit Crews, etc. Then I worked on the CC Line, and the Magic Data, and now the Pit Crews have disappeared..!! So it must be something toby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4

More about this topic guys.... I have noticed the same thing - cars disappear, just before end of lap and just after the start. But one thing I notice is that if I am more than about 200 metres behind a car, they disappear after the start finish line, but if I am very close i.e. at the start of the race off the grid, they don't disappear. So it seems that distance between the currentby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Fantastic!! The 2003 is my favourite because that's aroudn the time I heard the most in real lifeby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Well said Fergy... politeness always brings a greater response, and doesn't cost anything either!by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Yeah that's true - it's more than just the DAT that calls the Wad, it depends what slot it's in so you'll need to rename the WADs too.by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4

I have the same experience Fergy... - From onboard OTHER cars disappear for a second as they pass the Pit Exit - From TV Cam, every car disappears for a second aproaching the final corner I am using the Indianapolis track slot.... seems a track issue not a camera issue as it is on board too... anyone else had this problem and know a fix at all? Fantastic track though, really great..!!by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Good point about the track map download, thanks a lot Much appreciated, thanks again!by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
That's it, exactly what I mean! LOL I didn't realise it was so simple! Thanks a lot - really appreciate it. Let me just ask quickly then... what about the track map graphic? Not that that matters at all really, the name's the most important. Thanks againby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Ello Anyone able to tell me... when you update a track not using the TSM method, i.e. just replacing the .DAT and the .TEX, how do you get the proper circuit name to appear in the Menu in GP4? I know it does it when you use TSM by using a GPI, etc.. but how can I do this manually? I struggle with TSM when I just want to update one circuit, and I can't seem to find a tutorial/help, so Iby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
True... although the f-Duct rechannels air of course... in effect creating an artificial "slipstream" situation over the rear wing... so it could be either..! Same end result! Another reason why GP4 is awesome and the way it's been developped by the community - love it!by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
That's a good point actually! I wonder if you could set the Slipstream effect to a high setting when you press a button.. that would be cool!by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Yeah Schueyfan, it's all linked to altitude/air pressure and therefore aerodynamic efficiency - the Air Resitance in the Magic is a great way to change on wing settings for AI and Player affect the actual speed, so if you and the AI are not hitting max RPM at say, Monza, you can just increase the "Air Resistance" to make the cars effectively more aerodynamically efficient. Lol yeah it's funny that one Lee. I have teams in 2008 order and so that I can use all three of your fab rims in a set, I set Team01 (Slot2) to McLaren, and the others to B/M or 1/0 whatever. I use the McLaren rims as Michelin and set Team 11 to those and also one or two others, then I use the green striped tyres as the McLarens and set Team 2 to those, then the rest to the Bridgestone tby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
you can set Team01 to use any of the normal textures too mind you, Quick, but you can ONLY set Team01 to use "2"... so if you have McLaren in Team01, you can have half the field on the "Michelin" tex (whatever you set that tex to be), half on "Bridgesone", and Team01 on the "McLaren" tex. so you're getting three different textures.. Ok, you canby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
I've just realised that it's "2" to set Team01 to the Enkei rims in your Performance Text... As Lee says in his Forum and his readmes... if you set Team01 to Tyres=2, and the others to 0 or 1 then you can have three different rims types in the game - fantastic! Thanks for helpby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Quick I've done that though mate, but you can use three different brands, if you set the section of the Perf Text file so that the team in the McLaren slot actually uses the third (Enkei) rim, you can have some teams on type 0, some on type 1, and some on type McLaren. If you remember that util Tyre Set, Team Editor by Laurent as well actaually... ... you can set some teams toby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Can anyone tell me what the command is in the Performance Text file to set the tyre brand for Team01 (Originally McLaren) to the Enkei rims.. so you can have three different rims in the game? I know you have 1 and 0 for the other two, but what is it to get the "McLaren" rims? I can't find it anywhere "2" would have made sense but doesn't seem to do anything...by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
I think you're right Fongu - some cars had it as a little hole on the front of the cockpit I think..by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Fongu - sounds like it's supposed to be an f-duct then? Cool I'll have to check out this shape! LOL Fergy, I know what you mean - one day everything fine, the next, something wierdby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Isn't it the F-Duct? LOL Sorry not much help, odd that an extra shape should suddenly appear?! Tried just reinstalling the cockpit .gp4 shape? :\by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
That's great advice thanks... I tried Monaco again last night using Prblanco's tips and it is getting there, but what you say makes really good sense, I'll try it out again tonight, and let you know... Thanks, sounds good!by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
I can't see the glitch Fergy? Are you talking about that little black line?? If so, that's the aerial, for radio and data transmission back to the car..?! It's supposed to be there, lol!by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
OOh interesting! I never thought of it - I'm going to go and try it! Haha Thanksby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
That's a very good point Prblanco - I noticed recently that a few corners had a larger radius on entry then smaller halfway through the corner so cars would brake for a corner then slow down more and it was unnecessary and VERY annoying when you ran into the back of them, haha.. I agree too that one radius on a corner is what you want - any more and the corner just doesn't seem to flow?by TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
I did it based on the 2001 layout, because I love the updated Monaco tracks, but the Pit Lane problem really bugs me - how you can't drive out of the pits without spinning it round, lol... unless I'm mistaken and there is a track with a working 2005 onwards Pit Lane?? Sure, I'll be happy to upload it, I just have to finalise it, it's 99% now, but like you say - you spot onby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
Anyone else here into editing CC lines? I've always tried getting the CC lines spot on, just looking to share some tips and pointers. I've been recently working on Monaco, to get a more realistic AI line whereby: - they don't leave the door so WIDE open on corners such as Mirabeau - they avoid the big bump down the hill from Casino - etc I have a really good CC Line now fby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
I've never understood the way that GP4 uses your CPU and GPU. It seems to be much more processor dependent as opposed to GPU dependent doesn't it, a bit like a flight simulator appears to be like this too - maybe because it's working harder to calculate what the other 22 cars are all doing rather than working hard to draw it. But you'd think this wouldn't be AS stressfuby TeamBPR - Grand Prix 4
