When exporting a file to TGA in GIMP, does ticking the 'RLE Compression' box have any effect with relation to GP4Builder? I've had GP4Builder crash a few times when inserting a particular logo, which is making me wonder. Thanksby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4

Request: The circuit is playable, and in theory I could release a basic version now. However, whilst I've been adding new objects in the past few months, there are a few floating objects in-game that I do not know how to fix. Would anyone be willing to offer their services? Hope this helps you guys: EDIT - A lot more footage on the Tube tooby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
Soon. Going to be honest, not a lot of progress since Christmas. At the moment it is rough around the edges, with some issues in game with 'floating' objects, however, my plan is to continue grabbing images from Street View, and do more land creation. And then, who knows. But I would like to get a release... soon. Won't be perfect, but want to get it out there soon! (by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
A sneak peek... gildoorf takes the credit for doing the building outlines in GP4 Builder, I have been grabbing images off Google Street View to create the above, which I am slowly working my way through alongside Barber. One or two graphics issues are cropping up where textures are concerned in game again (mainly the way the objects appear, sometimes floating) but I will deal with them laby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
Whilst gildoorf was busy adjusting my St Petersburg .gp4 (more on that soon), I began adding run off areas to a Barber Motorsports Park (round #2 of the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series) .dat that I had created a while back. Here is the current progress: No pit lane means that no in-game tests have taken place yet (and there is no cc-line yet either!), but the elevation appears fairly smooby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
Am I the only person who cannot see the pictures? Using Chrome...by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
Great stuff gildoorf, send it back to me when you've done. Will credit you if/when I release it.by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
gildoorf - can you see the .dat okay?by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4

Thanks! If you do make any .dat changes, don't make any dramatic ones as I've already done some of the .gp4....by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4

Some progress... Two annoying things though: 1) the crowd standing on the ground are not showing in game 2) the pit lane tarmac I have changed, but the change is not showing in game Not entirely sure why and it isn't a camera issue. A minor but frustrating issue. For the moment, going to continue developing the land around the track as I have above.by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
A little update, have been a few basic objects, such as flags, pit stands and lines on the tarmac to give it more of a street feel. A note on the pit stands, I've placed them where they are on the circuit, which is of course in a different position compared with F1. Not an issue in the race, but if you wanted to qualify you'd be 'in' the pit stand. Not a big issue but worth noby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
nhorry Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Looks great!!!!! > > (once again: any news about Orchard Park or St. > Petersburg?) Not a lot of progress on St Petersburg, but there was some interest in a release, so I may release what I have done for you guys to race around on.by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the comments. Thanks to this the main pit lane bug is now fixed, so cars can pit properly, although the drive through penalty bit still exists.by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
I wasn't sure whether to upload this, as it is only a work in progress and is something that is, unlikely, to be fully completed. Nevertheless, it is a little something I have been working on over the past few months in my spare time. It is the Honda Grand Prix of St Petersburg circuit that is used in the IZOD IndyCar Series - on Grand Prix 4! The video is an on-board lap and exterior vieby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4

All fixed, was an issue with the camera settings on each object - each was set to 0 for some reason. Thanks Edit - maybe not, because that's what you said I should do above. Confused :confused:by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
Hmmm, now trackside objects have disappeared from exterior cameras (trees/stands/boats etc).by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
Super stuff, did the trick! Some grandstands are disappearing ocassionally, but nothing dramatic. The main thing is that track/trackside objects etc are doing as expectedby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4

Hi guys, Having a problem when creating a track. Occasionally when racing, all objects (apart from trees and some bridges) disappear. Within GP4Builder, I've tried: - 'Fix Parts to Objects' link - 'Recover lost parts' - Recomputed CC-cars behaviour Neither of which do anything. Here's some screenshots to show what I mean: Any other suggestionsby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
How do you guys do elevation for real circuits? I'm using Google Earth and then exporting it to a CSV file, but am finding that it brings out imaginary bumps and isn't always 100 percent accurate. What do you guys do?by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
Yeah - that's worked. Basically within all the folders in Program Files - each folder has a new set of permissions called 'ALL APPLICATION FILES' which only allows you to read the content, and not modify it. But moving it to my own user area worksby neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
It is permissions, you're absolutely right. Moving the Builder folder over to my user area will solve the issue - I think!by neldav03 - Grand Prix 4
