Hello to everybody, mates. Well...I totally agree with my friend Matt Schroeder, and personally I'm very honourated to be considered a celebrity...'cos I don't feel myself in this way. I really think that all I made was done for my personal pleasure, and not to compete with other people. If people like my works or not is a matter of taste...but surely I'm happy when I read tby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
NO, "old download" section works properly, and the Physics editor found is just the 1,03 ( july 2003 ) version. So: what's the problem?by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
The car is good...really. Since it could be a great work, let me give some suggestions: make smaller the width of Pitot base ( it seems a little too large in the last screen); make a 3d airscoop ( if it's 2d, like resembles ); make 3d grills, if they are, like resemble, 2d ( not essential...but car should be more realistic ); make just a little narrower the nosecone...it seems too largeby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Martin I appreciated your work. Anyway, in my next 2006 Perf Pack, some changing in magic data could give a sort of better realism....and I will offer also a good default set up ( dry and weather ). Nicolaby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
This new track is a nice update for "fantasy" GP4 2006 set. But, I noticed some strange values in magic file, regarding failures...and maybe also pit stop data. Furthermore, I think some other features may be improved, depending on performances used in GP4 for this track. Anyway, remembering that someone asked why, in this track, few cars were finishing the race...or why cars often haby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
In the original game, there is a setting page where You can choose if playing with : 1) 2001 level ( that is, in practical, what You can chosse in GPxpatch with "car power team dependant" option ); 2) all ( cars and CPU drivers ) the same level; 3) casual. I found very interesting the second option....but, keep in mind that when You set " all the same level", this level is tby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
I can't add any other words to those by Diego....If vesuvius wants, he can show some screens of the "still untextured" car...but maybe for GP4 perfectionists they are not so useful in understanding if car is realistic enough, because the effect with texture is totally different. Anyway, for impatience, or courious people....please, vesusvius, let's show some screens. Thanks.by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
To dark21a Dear mate, I perfectly know the spirit with which You released the car...and this is right, don't worry. We all are greatful to updaters, specially when they are offering news in few time. My discussion, however, is based on another aspect, and this release confirm what I said: You released and "old" car, with a new dress...nothing of bad, but this IS NOT a Ferrarby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
The problem is in the "core" of the game...it's a sort of compense for human driver, since, if You increase too much skill value of drivers ( over 16500 is hard to compete, and over 17000 is impossible ) in perf texts, or if You increase too much grip driver in magic files ( for tracks ), then CPU drivers become unbeatable, at ace level In GP4, infact, there are several physics anby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
I saw these "preview screens" of the new 2007 Ferrari, and honestly I doubt that is possible to prepare in only few days, from the official launch of the new real car, a good definitive model for GP4. Ferrari team just presented the new car with "old" wings, and there are not yet available good photographs of many particulars.... Furthermore, with all respect for the work ofby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
@ Erik Dear friend...thank You. I don't deserve any credit on this beautiful car. It's a really great work by You and Duco. But..Thanks again for the kind though.by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
These data are physic data stored in each track dat file of GP4. They can be easily changed with the Magic Editor: extracting from a track file dat the magic file, then You can change these features. You can patch track dat file with modified magic files through the magic Editor. Gpxpatch is needed to "read" magic files in patched tracks. Magic files, indeed, are including a lot of dby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Honestly, this tool is not really new...This is the "Torque Editor" ( only for GP4 1.02 ) used from 2 years by GP4 Italia team in their F1 mods for GP4. You can ask, to be sure, to "Walter Rohl" by GP4 Italia, who developped during these last 3 seasons GP4 performances. So....the new thing, maybe, is that now this tool is shared. Regards Nicolaby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Some answers to these last questions: the car is finished...I mean, lod 0. The version is Interlagos, therefore the first texture will be, of course, NT. But Diego has to hardly work on Toro Rosso by Matt, togheter to this Ferrari project. So, I can't say when the first texture will be ready. Textures will be probably divided in 2048 size for cars, and 1024 for damage objects. Finally,by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
To Fongu: actually, I put these rear brake cover in the carshape...but of course this means that they should rest, while tyres are rounding. I don't know the effect during the game..but surely You can't put brands or names on these "covers", 'cos they should look irrealistic. Maybe they will be only coloured...don't know. On the other way, putting these tyre add-by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Thank You, Enzojz. I think also Your car is great...but You know perfectly that these cars ( ours ferrari ) are not "low" poly cars. Thank You also to Forum people for appreciating the preview. Anyway, when we will have the final model ( lod 0 ), I will say how many polys we reached. I think that for the last GP4 cars, good lower lods are essential...., and probably also reasonable sby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Hello to everybody To answer some questions: No, Torque editor ( that is an Hex editor for GP4 102 ) is not available for download...but I'm not from the GP4italia staff, so I can't explain ( although I can image ) the motivations for which this tool has never been publically released. On the other hands, I think that some great GP4 editor makers, like Lok2, could attempt to do sby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
I was accurate in my discussion . Read well what I said in my first note above. You have to read better. I spoke about "real" car rpm values in 2006 ( that are around 19000-20000 rpm ); I spoke about default GP4 rpm ( 16700 ). I never spoke about your physics file. I only said that actually with Physics editor is not possible to edit Torque value. Of course, I remark again, as Marianby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Dear friend I never was "angry" with anyone..that's sure. And I never cry as baby...'cos I'm no more a baby ( unfortunatelly ! ). I suggested to revise your files because it's notorious that with perf values over 17000, human drivers have no more chances in GP4 against CPu drivers. You put values also as 22000...and there are no comments to add. Regarding "by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
I saw the thread, and I took a look at published files...but , respecting the good intention of Author, I have to remark some points on this 2006 physics set. There are some basical concept to be clarified, when You speack about "2006 Physics" for new F1 cars, and when You speack about GP4. The first thing, concerning GP4, is that when You set Perf file, You can't pretend thatby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Well...reading this thread, I could'nt stay without replaying. The first thing that I have to say is that Gezere is basically right in his opinion: nowadays, all shapers and painters ( me included....the first autocriticism is for me ) , beside the joy and amusement on making new cars and high quality textures, are living a sort of competition on GP4 sites....and this is true. The first iby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Thank You for Your effort. Thank You for downloading these cars....I've just uploaded all the 2005 versions ( F2005, as well as...not F2004M). Nicolaby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
I will do later, in order to offer You also on this site all this F2005 set. Nicolaby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
@MarcLister: the only different feature between Magny Cours and Silverstone cars in Ferrari was the mirror model, bilaterallyy high in France, and bilaterally low in England on the car 1 ( Schumacher ). Therefore, the pack is right: only lods for car 1 in the subfolder for Silverstone.by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
THis is another new track ( such as Hockenheim, or Istanbul ), in my opinion, where a lot work should be done in magic data, since, when You set in a correct way, realistic laptimes and the maximum of difficult drive, of course, should remain at Ace level.....but 5 seconds faster than opponents is not right even for Rookie level. Therefore, cc grip levels ( at all levels, probably ), and cc bhpby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
@ Tony: Hi, my friend. yes, I can do something on magic file for Istanbul track, since ( IMO ) there are several things that could be improved. I can do a new magic set, based on default Physics file...but anyway I need your perf text. Then, I will do eventually also something to fit better with your Physics file 2005 Mod....but I need those 2 files. If You want to send me them n.by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
@ Schumy1: Regarding Track use, are You using with GPxpatch? And, using GPxpatch, have You activated "Debug" mode? Other thing: Do You use "default" track order, or not? @ Ruboy: dear mate, is not a problem for me updating track with new, realistic magic data ( including pit stop and failures data of 2005, fuel quantity for qualify, new track grip, car set up, etc ). Theby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
I don't know if is a my feeling, but this track has some pieces with irregular height on layout. I don't mean hills, or natural trend of track ( that is not flat, of course )...I mean that car is almost all the lap with nose bumping up and down. In my opinion, something is wrong on bump factors. When You drive, You have the feeling to have "cross" tyres, instead of F1 tyres.by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
Renaming Lod 0 as missing lods ( lods 1 to 4 ) is not the solution per medium-low PCs. This is the reason for which I always suggested to shapers to do REALLY TRUE lower lods.by nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
@ Mr Pibb: Did You saved gp4 file with GP4 3D Editor as "cockpit_wheel"....or "cockpit"? Becouse, cockpit_wheel is the right file for moving leds, aids lights, etc. Although You can open with GP4 genius both, saving them as "GP4" files, You can then open with ZModeler only cockpit.gp4 file. But this file is not the main for editing steering wheel. You need to opeby nicol@cciarri - Grand Prix 4
