Basically you have to get the final corner right. Say, for example, if you have one sector with a two degree turn but the finish is too much on the inside, try changing it to two sectors of one degree each. Or add a sector with very little turning right after the final corner. Trial and error, mostly. If you're working with both .dat+.gp4 files at the same time, you can create a long horiby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
It's a site that hosts multiple tracks and mods; some are made or compiled by the site owner himself, most are works made by other people (including myself and/or F1virtual), either updated or simply reuploaded by the site owner. My biggest complaint about it is that a casual user who simply finds the site and downloads something has no way of knowing in which of the above categories anyby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
There are two settings in magic data that specifically influence the behaviour of AI cars during a race start. The first value is in line 49 (default CMagic description: "subtracted from diff between field_e2 of 2 cars and then compared to speed of first car"; GP4Builder description: "Related to slipstream ?" ). This is a distance in feet (16 feet = 1 track sector). It specby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
From what I can see, the pitlane exit is before the start/finish line. I suspect GP4 can't handle this scenario.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
It happens when the track does not have magic data attached to it. Then the game will default to using magic data from the original 2001 tracks, which is hidden in the GP4.exe. In your specific example, by using the track on slot 3 it takes its parameters from Interlagos (track 3 in the 2001 season), which has lower engine power as it's around 900 meters above sea level (in non-turbo engiby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
I assume you're asking this from a track building perspective. A few years ago, F1 published elevation data for tracks on the calendar back then: . If you're lucky, you might find data on a track's official website, but this is very rare. I once found a GPS trace someone had recorded when riding a bike around a circuit. Another source of information is using Google Earth Proby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4

The first build of Jerez is the one still available at the F1virtual website, released Christmas 2005. I never updated it myself despite many promises to do so other modders took that job instead.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4

Hi @architect, .tga texture files can be encoded from top to bottom or vice-versa, depending on which software and settings you use. To change how GP4Builder reads them, go to Tools menu > Preferences > Display > Reverse all Textures.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Hi @architect, The most common cause for this bug is when the first pitlane sector (Sector 0) is not fully aligned with the track sector that is closed to it. From the GP4Builder user guide: "Selecting Pitlane 0 and using "Force 16 feet distance" and "past sector" will automatically place this sector at the expected position and direction" when you try to moveby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4

I'm looking for aerial imagery of the Miami circuit. Google Earth has imagery from the 2022 GP weekend but it's not in high resolution and nearly half the circuit is covered in clouds. I also tried Bing and Esri but neither of them have imagery of the finished circuit. If anyone knows of another source which fulfills these requirements I'd be more than grateful. The coordinates X1, Y1 and Z1 are the center of the upper-left light, while X2, Y2 and Z2 are the center of the lower-right light. You can create a temporary vertical surface in GP4Builder, Align it to the start gantry (Edit menu) then move/rotate/scale it until it's positioned like the picture below. Then you can see the vertex coordinates and use those in the track's .ini. EDIT:by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
GP4Builder has a built-in backup feature that will automatically save your files every 15 minutes or so, check the "backups" folder where the GP4Builder.exe file is. It is also good practice to manually save a backup file every 30 or 60 minutes if you're doing long editing sessions. GP4Builder can get unstable after using it for an extended time, but it's by far the best toby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
The season finally comes to an end, a week late There’s always a mix of sensations in occasions like this one. On one hand, I’m truly relieved the season has ended, which means I can forget my PC exists for a couple of weeks without leaving people waiting for something I had previously committed to. On the other hand, I look back and I’m happy we managed to keep this going for the whole yeby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4

It's a GP4 bug which happens with many different mods/cars/tracks (usually as a combination of long cars and low sunlight angles) and there's no known fix. If it bothers you, you can always switch to static shadows.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
One last work to finish this season. The newly (since last year) updated Yas Marina Circuit, with a lot less corners but still lots of annoying off-camber ones. This one was also built for use in the Time Trial League, but unforeseen circumstances greatly restricted the amount of time I could dedicate to this one. That means a lot of the fine-tuning I usually do by comparing the track with varby Prblanco - Grand Prix 4

White objects like that definitely are missing textures, if it switches back and forth it means something is causing the textures to be unloaded/reloaded frequently. Maybe the game is running out of memory or, as you say, something in the f1graphics.cfg is causing this behaviour. Try deleting f1graphics.cfg (make a backup first) and see if it changes anything.by Prblanco - Grand Prix 4
Guys, I'm building the new Yas Marina layout but I'm a bit late. If I don't finish it until Wednesday, would you prefer to run the older layout (by another author, tojepo for example) and keep the schedule or to delay the round by a week and run the new layout?
