the closest to precedent i could think of would be when lauda missed the European GP in 85. John Watson stood in for him and he raced with #1 on the car. I guess if it happened now and for more than just 1 race, the 2 teams would just swap numbers.by marwood82 - F1

to be honest Spa last year is partly responsable for this. everyone is now so paranoid about getting penalties for overtaking. lewis overtook trulli and then panicked.(hence he asked the team for guidance) given the radio transcripts you can see why the FIA have given the verdict they have and its hard to argue. i would however like to think it was simply a mistake on Lewis and Ryansby marwood82 - F1

i think ferrari's tyre choice was partly them gambling on a safety car. Take the hit for the first 15 laps, then if there is a safety car(which does seem to be the case in Oz) then you get all the time back and are now on the prime tyres. Kimi was in a similar position to Kubica when he stacked it into the wall. I did like some of Glock's moves around the outside at turns 3+4by marwood82 - F1

have just watched the forum, i have to give the beeb 10/10 this weekend. Well presented, 2 pundits that have opinions and ask decent questions,(liked the argument over <spoiler>'s apology) commentary team are still getting to know each other but i thought for a first time out it worked well. the sunday build up wasn't just a repeat of the features from saturdays. To be fair. Jordan is a pundit so his job is to be opinionated and instigate a debate. I thought both he and dc did that very well. Even if you think they're talking rubbish, if they're asking questions and getting a reaction or expressing an opinion you don't agree with then they're doing their job. I thought both looked a little nervous but the initial banta between them sugby marwood82 - F1
can't they just send everyone to the back of the grid and be done with it? one point about the start tomorrow, 5live touched on it yesterday during practice. The suggestion that there is nothing in the rules to stop a team pre-charging their KERS batteries. that way the ferraris would be able to hit the button once the lights go out and get a boost off the line into turn 1. cby marwood82 - F1
