It was an awful accident and as far as I have read on here, everybody is in agreement that he is lucky to be alive, especially now when more pictures are coming out and showing how bad an accident it was. As for it being disrespectful to be discussing a replacement, well all I can say on that is you (kubica2) seem to be the only one who thinks so. Certainly the majority of the media, f1 fans, Rby airefresco - F1
They do need to define that though. Was Germany for example team orders or bringing the sport in to disrepute? They need to clear that up before the season starts so there cannot be any arguments during the season.by airefresco - F1
Because there will always be team orders and it is impossible to govern. Ferrari never directly said move over, granted it was obvious what they meant, but they never actually told Massa to let Alonso past. I am sure that there have been other instances this season too that have gone largely unnoticed. The current system is far too messy and all it does is lead to the teams thinking up cleverby airefresco - F1

Has Alonso not always been criticised by the British media or did just it start around Hungary 2008? Genuine question. People are always going to dislike "their" drivers rival. It was the same in 90´s when Hill was losing to Schumacher, at lot of the British fans (me included at that time) didn´t like Schumacher. Obviously he didn´t help himself by being involved in various incideby airefresco - F1

Of course they would. For the record, I am not saying any particular nation/media group or whatever is right or wrong, more that we (the general public) base our opinions on what we see/hear/read and they control that.by airefresco - F1

I think a lot of it is down to the media. The drivers (and other team personnel) who are co-operative with the media get a better showing, so people get a better vibe from them and liken to them. For example Alonso really dis-likes the British media, hence he is always a bit off with them and that spreads across to the British fans. Whereas in Spain, he comes across as a really decent bloke aby airefresco - F1
They mentioned several times on spanish commentary about Massa missing his position. They said he was 2 metres over, but I don´t think it was as much as that. Thing is, how come none of the stewards noticed, yet TV commentators did?by airefresco - F1

To be honest, I would doubt Alonso or Massa said that stuff off their own backs. More likely Ferrari PR people helped in the writing of that and they are hardly going to say the truth and shoot themselves in the foot for the hearing. I didn´t think Alonso looked to happy at all getting out of the car on Sunday, nor in the press conference. One of the reporters there mentioned something toby airefresco - F1

This video will probably disappear shorty. However, look how close Alonso was to taking out the 2 VR´s and the safety car. They never showed that on TV. As much as I like Alonso, that was a little silly.by airefresco - F1

this is fantastic. I think a special mention should go to Dave for bringing this to the attention of the people on here. If this thread hadn´t been made then I probably wouldn´t have taken too much of an interest in it and so wouldn´t of been pestering friends to buy RATM. Below is a list of the top ten selling records of the past decade. It is certainly a sad state of affairs, with only one real pop icon as such, that being Kylie. Not one proper band on the list yet bloody Bob the builder is. 1. Will Young - Evergreen 2. Gareth Gates - Unchained Melody 3. Shaggy - It Wasn't Me 4. Tony Christie/Peter Kay - Is This The Way To Amarillo? 5. Band Aid 20 -by airefresco - Off-Topic
Fernando said in an interview before Abu Dhabi that the Renault was pretty much the worse car for most of the season and his team mates should not be judged compared to him as he has a lot more experience. Which I think is a valid point. Piquet had a whole season in a decent car, where Grosjean has had half a season in a poor car.
