Top banana. I'm looking for pictures now. I'll send you what I have later. paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
Has anybody got a unlocked .gp4 file for the wheel I can use then? I've got loads to do for my mod and making a new wheel from scratch would take me a long time. Cheers, Paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
Just to update. I got someone who is doing the physics file now. Also, I've sorted the tyre problems, so they are finnished.by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
As I said a few weeks ago I am working on a mod for a new league which i will be starting. Orignally it was going to be based on GP2. However, my computer died and I lost all the files, so I started again. Now the cars are based on lower formulas e.g. formula 3, formula BMW etc. The cars will be limited to 200bph. I was plannig to do the whole mod by myself (apart from the car shape), but tby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
I do, when the race is on at stupid o'clock in the morning and you think (and the spannish commentators too may i add) someone's (can't remember who) is overtaking Montoya. Then as the cars get closer to the camara you realise it's a Midland. it's just plain confusing have two teams with liveries so similar. BMW and Williams are similar also too i supose, but it isby airefresco - F1
Thanks. That what I thought might be the case. So all I have to do is create the same objects that are in the orignal wheel and it should work? I assume if I don't create the parts I don't want (ie driving aid indicators) then it will crash the game. Is this right? Thanks paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
I can't do that because the save option is greyed out on 3deditor. Thanks anyway. Paulby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
3deditor still says it's locked, (like i said in my first post) and save and export option is disabled. Paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
I know thats why i'm posting in here. Right this what is what I am doing. 1. Extracting the file from the cars wad 2. Opening it with GP4 genius (I can now see the wheel without textures in the preview panel) 3. Saving the file either as it's orginal name or a new name (makes no difference which.) 4. Try and open the file in 3Deditor (the lastest one) and get a message "by airefresco - Grand Prix 4

I still can't edit the wheels!!! I have opened them with gp4 genius and then saved them but the files are still locked. I've tried saving them with different names but nothing seems to work. The only file I can get to edit is some Mclaren wheel that I downloaded, but that is not ideal because it has been heavly moddified. Any other steering wheel that i've tried (about 10 incluby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
I had a very similar problem once. It turnred out to be my video card. Check that heat sink on the card is clean and turn everything in the graphics section, in the game, to the lowewst possible settings. If your game still crashes after that then it probably not your video card and you have something else wrong. Paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
Ignore that last post. I've just Version 0.6 of gp4genius and I can open .GP4 files with that. cheers, paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
Ok, I got GP4 genius first and I can only open cars.wad with it. If I open that I get a wireframe picture of a car (ferrari I think) and no option to select a different .GP4 file. Have I got an old version, or am I doing something wrong? The version I have is 0.1.0 Then I tried gp4 editor, as suggested by Floris_Koop_GP4Freak, and their are no options in there to load or import shapes. Aby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
Ok, Thanks. I'll give that a go now.by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
I have been playing around with the steering wheel files but they seem to be very limited in what you can actually do. Basically, what I am trying to do (and this may not be possible) is to move or delete the LED displays and LCD display. I have worked out how to delete the bits I don't want by editing the alpha channel and making the bits I want to delete black. This seems to workby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
nah, Brazil or Spa are the best circuits imo. I've never liked Monaco, even in real F1.by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
You guys are a lot faster than me. Not played in F1 for a bit so not sure what times I can do. I've had a play with the cars (gp2 mod) set at 350bph and I was a lot better. ie the laps were a lot smoother, better entering and exiting corners. Did about 10 laps at 350bph, 5 or 6 at 500 bph and then about 20 at the orignal bph(750). Im now lapping constantly between 1.36-1.38, which is anby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
It's nothing to do with setups. I've always been rubbish at this track, even in the old day of gp3. The CC cars are lapping around the 1.32/33 mark. I just had a thought. I might alter the performance file to slow the car down somewhat. Something like 100bhp and then slowly build up from there. Damn track. paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
Could somebody please do me a huge a favour? I think I've mastered most of the circuits on gp4 (with the exception of maybe Monaco, but I don't like that track anyway) but I really struggle with Silverstone. I've probably done more laps at that circuit than any other, but I can't get it right. Is it possible that somebody could record a lap of them driving silverstone soby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
ARRRRGGGGGHHHH. My computer has died again. I've been out and bought a new hard drive, so it should be OK this time. I have lost the lot this time. I'm going to start the whole thing again. So If anybody has any suggestions or wants to help me, just let me know. I could do with help with the cockpit textures and helmet textures as i'm rubbish at these. I'm alrightby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
"on how to do the TV style overlays" I want to know HOW TO DO THEM not where I can download somebody elses. I alredy had this download but was a bit confussed as to how they were actually made. Thanks Tony, I'll look through the help files for when I get home. My computer is back up and running again now. I have lost more than I thought I had. I'm not being funny or anything but why have you put that link for realgpx there? Paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
Ok, I DON'T want to do a online game for three reasons. 1. It's mega slow, and with my dodgy spanish connection, it will be even slower. 2. It probably wouldn't work anyway 3. The problem of having everybody online at the same time. And there are probably many more reasons not to do it that way. My computer is almost working again. I managed to copy most of the files froby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
I was thinking hotlap races. About 10 minutes after posting my orignal message, my computer died and I think I might have lost all the work i've done on this. I'm going home now to see if I can fix my computer or least salvage my files. I think my hard drive might be knackered. Not impressed. Paul..by airefresco - Grand Prix 4
Hi everyone, I got a bit bored racing with F1 cars, so I have half made a mod for a fantasy competition. It is based on GP2 and F3, the cars are only 500bph. Anyways, I was thinking that when the mod is completed, maybe releasing it (after getting permission from everyone I need to) and running a league. I think it would be more fun racing against people rather than a computer. If aby airefresco - Grand Prix 4
