Has this thread stalled because the GP2 thread has gone quiet?by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Any news? Hope everything is alright with you reve-san I don't mind having to wait for the next race, but it would be good to know how long we might expect to wait.by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing engineering preparing for 2006 Having already signed an engine deal for 2006, the attention of the team management has turned to driver negotiations, and we wait patiently to see how these negotiations have gone so far, and have drawn up a short list of targets and look forward to further negotiations.by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Any news on testing results?by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering Press Release Top team of the weekend An excellent performance from both drivers this weekend has seen the team make significant strides forward in both championships, particularly the constructors championship. Benoit controlled the feature race perfectly and dedicated his win to the new born daughter of the team boss. Kobayashi also performed well in the feature race to gby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Awesome performance from benoit today. Lets hope his racecraft is as good as his raw pace clearly is. Shame Kobayashi is so far back, but he was just a tenth off the top 8. Perhaps he can get up there by the end of the race to grab the sprint pole.by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Hi guys sorry i've been quiet for the last week or so - Baby finally arrived yesterday after a couple of days of trying!! Racing Engineering will participate in the next test, focusing on speed, with Kobayashi and Truyeler, sending data on both days Reve-san Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > obvious things are obvious: > No Grand Prix this wby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Merry Christmas to all. Might be a bit quiet for the next few weeks - baby due yesterday, but she's hanging on!!by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering Press Release Crazy Sprint Race Well - some crazy driving out there today ruined a number of races. Premat ruined Kobayashi's for us - perhaps he needs to get out on the skid-pan and practice his wet weather driving. Kamui clearly had the pace this weekend and probably would have made the points. Lopez managed to keep his nose clean and move ahead of all the victimsby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering A fantastic reward for our hard work over the last few weeks and Kamui has once again shown his class by taking victory. After the race Kamui said how happy he is with the team and enjoying every race and added that he hoped to add to his points tally from this weekend in the sprint race. When asked if he felt he could claim the title, he said that there was still time to clby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
I like the fact that this is a simple development series, where you experience the demands of being involved in a series without having as much to think about as the main F1 series. I have to admit, it is frustrating when you go from top 3 to back of the grid between races (or even sessions), but that's because the performance differences are so small. At least it gives more teams the oppoby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering Press Release That's a bit more like it. Such a close field makes these grids really fiercely contested, and we're thrilled to be on the front row. Disappointed not to have had both cars in the top 10, especially after Lopez beat Kobayashi in practice (which he did compete in unless the practice standings were wrong?), but when one-tenth of a second covers 10 drivby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Question from me too (which I can't see an answer to)... If I make a 2 year contract offer, do I pay all the cost from one years budget, or is it divided equally over the two years?by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing engineering Some progress in sprint Well, that's a little better I suppose, and it was always going to be a challenge from where we ended up after the feature race. We look forward to the next race with a bit more hope, and lets see if it can be a bit more of a success. We'd also like to note how relieved we made the decision before the season to remain independent and noby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Nightmare at the Nurburgring for Racing Engineering The racing engineering crew couldn't hide their disappointment today after seeing a promising start to the race descend into chaos. Lopez was clearly feeling the pressure of being in a points scoring position and made a small mistake which cost him well over 30 seconds, and Kobayashi was the victim of some pretty slack quality control byby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Odd session for Racing Engineering Congratulations to Lopez on his continued good form into qualifying and look forward to another excellent performance in the race tomorrow, but our emotions are mixed. Really disappointed with the traffic ruining Kamui's lap, but hopefully his legendary overtaking skills + the outright performance of the car should give us the chance for a double pointsby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering An interesting session with us finishing first and last as we tested different directions on setup. Nice to see the mercedes powered teams mostly up the top of the time sheets and we look forward to an interesting qualifying and race. Re race 2. it'd be better if it was rerun with the fuel consumption fixed, but happy to cut it off before the pitstops to maintain tby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Nice to see the forum really busy, but it has meant this disappeared off the front page in a couple of hours. Any body got any ideas if resolution might be linked to steering sensitivity. Also, anybody know what the different advanced settings on control methods do?by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering Press Release We're thrilled to have re-signed with Mercedes for next season, and the negotiations were over in little under 10 minutes, showing the confidence that they have shown in this team.by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering At Catalunya where we have not been that fast in the past, we're happy that Kamui was able to get into the top 2 in day 1 and 4th on day 2, although we realise that Super Nova and HiTech would have also been competitive here. Lopez's pace was a little disappointing, but we hope the experience of 2 full days in the car has been beneficial for his development. Weby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Can I ask a question - will there be any any weight given to teams who are already with a particular engine manufacturer during the negotiation process?by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Hi all have just increased my screen resolution to 1920 x 1080 after switching to a new monitor and everything is working fine except the steering sensitivity of my joypad. Is this a normal side effect of increasing screen resolution? I'm using a xbox 360 controller for windows. Can someone explain the advanced settings on the control method options and which would reduce this sensitivitby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering Statement Well that went as well as could have been expected. Both drivers made progress from their grid slots and pit times were a bit better than they have been, although we could do with doing some practice stops when we go mid-season testing. We had some interesting discussions with some F1 personnel over the race weekend with a view to linking up for next season, althoby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Reve-san, I did ask for kobayashi and lopez in the session, but never mind - still got some set-up reward. Lopez in the top 10 bodes well for qualifying for both him and kobayashiby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
I'm not really in favour of multi year contracts, but it would be good if the current team had a chance to resign the driver before he is released on the open market.by ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing engineering A great performance from Kamui in the feature race, which could have resulted in points and sprint pole. We've analysed everything from qualifying and the race and we think we've worked out why qualifying was such a disaster. We clearly have the pace to consistently score points and we could win some races if we can get the setup reward sorted. The line up for tby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
Racing Engineering Was really pleased with Lopez's form in practice, and if we can have a bit of that speed in the race then we might be okay. Testing showed that Barcelona doesn't really suit our car, but I don't think it helped that perhaps we went the wrong way on setup for qualifying after the feedback from Benoit. Let's hope for a better showing when the race resultsby ginnerchris - Grand Prix 4
